Since all that's needed is a valid connection, HA configures all of the supposed connections/media_players but there's not actually a bi-directional connection happening, so all media_players report "unknown" under controls. I had this up and running at one point, but I can't for the life of me figure out how I opened up the right ports on the Serial Connector settings of the device. nmap just reports nothing open other than 80 and 1501.

Re: How to Setup the Monoprice 6-Zone Amplifier to work with Home Assistant

I'm still waiting for someone to respond to "hello world." Thanks for the link to this info. I'm stuck, however, because I don't run a docker command to start Hass.io. I installed HASS.io on my Ubuntu box using a script by Frenck. https://gist.github.com/fre.... At the end of the script, the start command is a systemctl command that fires up something called `hassio-supervisor.service`. So, if the issue is making the USB port accessible to the Docker container via a command line adjustment, I don't know where that would go. I find it strange that the hardware report in the System tab of HASS.io shows the Aeotec Stick on /dev/ttyACM0 just like it was on my RPi3 (which worked fine), but won't initialize the Zwave interface in HASS.io. Ideas?

Re: I Was America’s First ‘Non-Binary’ Person. Here's what I discovered, but I'm not sure why it happens. If you add something like `permalink:` to the front-matter default configuration in the _config.yml file, adding two quotes `permalink: ""` causes the search.json file to not render. I'm wondering what purpose empty quotes would have or if they're needed at all. So, I just removed them and it seems to be working.

Re: Search configuration | Jekyll theme for documentation

Hey Tom. Hope you're having a great day. You know, I ran into a strange problem that I can't nail down. I'm running this theme on two separate sites on virtual servers on the same box. When I browse to search.json in the root of one of the sites, I see the resulting file, and I'm able to validate it for searching, but on the other site, the search.json file isn't being rendered by Jekyll. So I've at least nailed it down to that. Now, what I'm trying to figure out is if there's a config setting in the Jekyll setup that is preventing json files from being rendered to the _site folder, or if Jekyll will fail to render the file if there's a problem with one of the other files. Either way, I've lost my ability to search my site and I can't nail it down to which file caused it, or which config setting may be preventing it from working. Any ideas?

Re: A Jekyll TOC in Liquid only

Hmmm...works great when included in a page layout that contains {{ content }} but what would we do if we wanted the TOC to show up in a sidebar included in a page layout? I disabled the collections in config and everything returned to normal. The feed.xml files that I had created were also not rendering, and all of the posts weren't rendering either. Not sure of the exact details, but everything seems to be working.

Re: Getting started with the Documentation Theme for Jekyll

Whew...well, after using this theme for a long time and enjoying it, I ran into a problem. Out of the blue, search.json reported as not being able to be found. So, I decided to download the entire repo, drop it into a new folder, and run bundle exec jekyll serve to see if maybe something I had done to my setup caused the problem. I was met with a ton of errors showing files not available as shown here: https://hastebin.com/cuyoro... just based upon the repo as it is now.

At this point, I'm completely at a loss...and it's just got to be something simple that I've overlooked. Any ideas?

Re: Troubleshooting | Jekyll theme for documentation

What would cause the following: ERROR `/search.json' not found. search.json is in fact in the root of the site...and I don't think I've changed anything...

Re: Sidebar Navigation | Jekyll theme for documentation

I may have updated the page since you clicked it. The thought was... what if I need to create a page that doesn't just utilize the data from one menu in the _data folder, but more than one menu. Sort of like including html in the content...only it would be like including menus in the sidebar. Well, I just created a sidebar_2 menu, added some code to the CSS and javascript, and voila! Now I can add sidebar_2: to the front matter and insert a specific sidebar on specific pages stacked on top of each other.

I might try to take it a shade further and start determining which menu is displayed based upon the document's category or a given tag that's attached.

Here's a page that shows the menu...

https://newvalleychurch.git...

https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

Re: Tags | Jekyll theme for documentation

Hey Tom.
