Certainly there have been enough blocks and confirmations for the transaction to go through and the gas/gwei seemed sufficient for the transaction - at least within 'normal' range.

Re: Transaction 0x26011d1892d2b9807f722002921f81afd3f4757075d7c007b04c530165374f69

Just opened a ticket on Poloniex side Case #: 397256 and Coinbase support ticket is Case #: 2034226

Re: Transaction 0x26011d1892d2b9807f722002921f81afd3f4757075d7c007b04c530165374f69

Just opened a ticket on the Poloniex side Case #: 397256. It doesn't even show up there as "pending", even though the deposit address is correct.

Coinbase: "You have successfully sent 0.73069308 ETH (worth $209.94 USD) to 0x7f70553e568c39144f5f58c5be5b451371243f47 using Coinbase. To facilitate this transaction, you paid 0.00046467 ETH (worth $0.13 USD) in network fees."

The transaction seems to be "stuck" in transit for the past 3 days.

It's unclear to me why this would be the case since I also sent 1 ETH separately and received it within minutes.

https://etherscan.io/addres...

Etherscan TxHash: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x2...

Re: 19th Century Economist Reveals Surefire Investment Strategy!

Hi Andrew,

I view Jevon's theory and Moore's law as complementary.

The notion of "cost savings", "lower IT costs", "greater efficiency" are all double entendres. That's why we often hear, "it depends" (on the use and meaning) as a response.
They can mean "per unit" or in aggregate. We have greater lumen output at lower cost per unit in our household, that doesn't necessarily mean that we would consume less lumens (but we do consume less energy).
If the cost of production per unit of energy dropped to zero, we would likely use more lights in our home. On a per unit (light bulb) basis it translates into greater efficiency and cost savings. On an aggregate (household) basis it would depend. If our lives were static, then our energy consumption would remain the same. I suspect that as my children reach their teenage years our light consumption will increase, so here's to hoping that we achieve greater energy efficiency (lumen output) at a lower cost on a per unit basis.Like our growing household, humanity is not static. Innovation becomes the driver, and greater efficiency derived from technological innovation drives further innovation (as per the following hypothesis - http://innovation.ulitzer.c.... -Ray

Re: The 3 essential questions every blogger should answer

Another classic post Alexandra. It'll be interesting to see which legacy players will still be standing by 2020.

In a piece I wrote on, "The End of IT 1.0 As We Know It Has Begun", I arrived at similar conclusions. Lets see if they play out over this decade.

For those with the resources, this is a great time to launch a new business using this paradigm shift. The legacy companies have been caught flat footed and they're still out to lunch!

Keep up the good work!

Re: Windows Azure and Cloud Computing Posts for 2/17/2010+

With regards to your comment, "If Ray excluded “large technology companies like AT&T, Dell, EMC, HP, Microsoft, Unisys, and others where cloud computing is a small part of their overall offering portfolio” why are AWS and Google App Engine in the list? AWS and GAE are certainly small parts of Amazon’s and Google’s portfolios. Omitting Microsoft and IBM is the post’s fatal flaw, in my opinion."

You're correct in your observation. I should be more specific as to the rationale behind the inclusions of Google and Amazon vs. the exclusion of legacy technology providers such as, IBM and Microsoft.

The challenge for companies like IBM and Microsoft is making their cloud initiatives work without cannibalizing their traditional technology businesses. Something I'm not convinced either is prepared to do.

IBM is a $103B technology company, Microsoft is a $60B company. Salesforce.com's $1.3B would represent a little over 1% of IBM's revenue and 2% of Microsoft's.

IBM is a great technology company, and I enjoyed my 12+ years there, and still have many great friends at the company.

However, I'm not fully convinced that the company is preparing to radically alter its very successful business model, nor would I expect them to given the size of the markets the company participates in, and the current size of the cloud computing market.

So, while you are correct that I could better articulate the reasons for the exclusion of these technology companies, I stand by my list of top cloud service providers; and as I indicated in my blog, it is my subjective impression of the leading cloud service providers in a technology segment that is still in its relative infancy.

Thank you for your readership of my Competitive Business Innovation blog.

Sincerely,

Ray DePena

Re: Transition to the Cloud

Congratulations on the move to the Cloud.
