Politics is used as a distraction to turn the American people against one another. Republican or Democrat, you're voting for different pieces in the same system. Each side is focused on making the other look bad while forgetting about the problems that they both helped to create. Stuff like this just stirs the pot and serves to make things worse.

Wise up. Don't just fall in line with whatever the party line is. Educate yourself. You've got the whole internet at your fingertips. Turn off the 24/7 news channels and read something without hyperbole or inherent bias.

I won't call you crazy, but I will tell you that the reason Bruce will always continue his fight in the comics is because the comics exist to tell Batman stories in perpetuity. We only get "possible endings" in books like Batman Beyond, The Dark Knight Returns, and Elseworlds. In the comics, Bruce Wayne will always be Batman, even when Azrael or Nightwing take over for a little while. It's a licensing and marketing thing.

The ending for TDKR works because in the the Nolan trilogy, there needs to be an ending for Bruce Wayne, but not Batman. Perhaps it doesn't fit in with your established "lore" or the way you view Batman, and that's okay. In the context of the film and the things that Bruce learns about his body and the punishment he endures? I think it works.
