Interesting comment. If I remember correctly, anyone and everyone with a gmail account was forced to have a Google+ profile (irrespective of they used it or not). And that profile was linked to everything including YouTube comments. Google pitched it and tried hard to make it a REAL Facebook competitor. As Supriya mentioned, you can check out the linked Twitter thread by an ex-employee about their intention and execution.

Nothing odd. That's the closest one could go with a prime lens without AF getting screwed up. Precisely why the author went back with a macro lens the next day.
