So yeah, i'll be bloggin about that soon.

Re: intersting links and more

it's excellent, especially the discussion of the politics of poverty in urban vs. rural populations.
Something to noteworthy though is how information and communication technologies are increasingly enabling rural communities to organize and make their voice heard. I'm sure that as communities have access to these leapfrog technologies, the bios and gap between the city and the farm will be significantly reduced. look at cellphones and all the amazing things rural Africans are doing with them....

Re: Alex Tiller's Blog on Agriculture & Farming - Buy Fresh, Buy Local

great blog Alex. I'm a strong supporter of local agriculture. The best part of my sundays is the farmers' market at Takoma Park, MD. I definitely don;t mind paying a little extra for all the freshness, entertainment and a unique chance to ask your question directly to the farmers.
I'm glad to see that supermarkets are finally realizing the potential of the "locally grown" market. my closest Whole Food has a series of big profiles pictures describing the farmers where they're getting their food from. Giant has something similar.
Anyway, keep the good work and thanks for your comment...not sure if the farm bill was a step in the right direction. rather it was 2 steps in opposite ways.
best
rafael
