It is over the top. In her interviews it even seems that she is a bit of a prisoner/slave to what she has created. She chose fashion over her marriage. I mean.. When I post about her its because she is a fashion icon. I love her style and I respect her place professionally. This has nothing to do with judgements I might make about if its responsible or not to have an extra apt for her clothes when people are starving. Two separate things. Also I would like to argue that part of what separates civilization from subsistence is the creation and support of art and culture. She supports that. Without fashion without fine and applied arts, music, dance, literature etc and those who champion them.. we would lose part of what adds depth to human society. So what do you suggest? Until every human on the planet is 100 percent cared for we just all wear sackcloth and shut down the museums?

<dc:creator http://darklamb.tumblr.com/post/1178997375

hello there,
well, a fashion colorist does a few things.
there is a creative element as well as a technical side to the job.
as a colorist you need to pay attention to color trends and
forecasting so you can work with the designers to come up with color
palettes for their collections. once those have been set up, it is
the colorist's responsibility to send those color standards (usually
a pantone or scotdic swatch number, or a swatch from a sample the
designer likes) to the fabric mills. the fabric mill will dye several
options (these are called lab dips) on fabrics that are being used in
the collection, and send them back for comments or approvals. the
colorist makes comments on how the color options look, either
approving or rejecting them, and then proceeds accordingly. as the
process continues from design development into production, the
colorist checks that the fabrics are the correct color standard. at
my position, i also work on textile R&D, developing new fabrics, or
approving existing qualities.. not all colorists do that but it is
fairly common since the two are so closely related fabric+color).
so that's it- the creative side is working with design on new
colorways, and following trend research etc.. the technical side is
all the follow-up with the factories, making specific comments (this
lab dip is 10% too dark and has a yellow-ish cast.. correct to... etc
etc). it's a good position for someone who is creative and sees color
very specifically (there are color tests you have to take) but who is
also good at being very organized and meticulous.
hope that's a good answer!

Sat, 25 Sep 2010 12:39:55 photo after photo of nude women on your blog and surely you think it's artistic... but two female scientists cannot perhaps gently suggest that there might be something to fucking with thousands of years of hormonal evolution? by the way they scientists never said to go off the pill and they encouraged women to take the pill to prevent pregnancy, they noted that female graduation rates from university went up after the pill was invented etc etc... they are observing however the tendency of females who do not ovulate to choose mates who are less masculine. and i was merely noting a personal experience that mirrored their study. so stop jumping down people's throats calling them misogynists. it's called scientific research and is not intended to judge but rather observe and report.

Re: Tender
