It started in the late seventies with a Shaeffer with a cartridge, bought at Walgreens. It became much more serious about three years ago. Writing with a fountain pen is effortless.

I never thought (only about 10% seriously) I'd be debating between a gorgeous Namiki anniversary pen and...a kitchen remodel, lol.

(I'll stick with my Nippon Art Maki-e Golden Pheasant - I find it difficult to believe a writing experience can be more sublime than that!)

God uses the most unlikely people/situations to draw us back to Himself So thankful He sent exactly who you needed exactly when you needed him.

I'm loving GH over the last six months or so. The stories are compelling, the acting from the entire cast has been stellar and the pacing, at least from my point of view, is right on. I like how they are addressing some of life's most difficult issues (bullying, transgender, Alzheimer's) in compassionate, non judgmental ways. We see the characters struggling with finding the right decision when no choice is perfect. It's fantastic.

This quilt is so very lovely - the play of values in the aquas give such movement to the quilt, and the butter rum rings are awesome!

I like the pineapple Lifesavers. Odd choice, but my favorite fruit. I've never been on a quilter's cruise, though I've cruised before, long ago in my youth, lol. There is a Missosuri Star quilt I've made before with jelly rolls - cannot remember the name of it, that uses various lengths of strips with a cornerstone to create a single Irish Chain type quilt, but with the strips as the background. I think this jellyroll may work up nicely in that quilt.

It's wonderful that GHWB wanted to sponsor one of these kids - the poorest American kid is infinitely wealthy compared to most of the kids in Compassion's programs. And he did it personally and privately - keeping it outside the kind of political vitriol that is being heaped on him even now.

I've had mine about a year, after having resisted for about six months before that. As a single, I couldn't see it would help me. Wrong! I often made big chunks of meat in my crock anyway, and the InstantPot cuts down the time. It's also incredible to steam veggies (I do a huge bunch of broccoli or beans to reheat in single servings during the week) It's no problem if I forgot to take out the chicken to thaw - I can cook it from frozen in the IP. Including an 8 pound turkey breast (about 25 minutes from frozen, not including time to get to pressure or release time).

Your milage may vary, try at your own risk, yada yada...but this recently dropped in my feed regarding reversing yellowing on the plastic on sewing machines. There's no guarantee that the plastics are similar in fountain pens, but at least this method has been tried and proven on *some* plastics.

I'm so blessed to live in Milwaukee...miles and miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, where you can sit and watch the sun come up over the lake. Much, if not most, of the shoreline is parkland or public beaches, so no fear of trespassing.

I expect the box to completely protect the pen during transport...I didn't really think anything more about it until I received my first over-$100 pen, the Visconti Rembrandt Pink. I opened things up, and honestly, my first thought (even before how gorgeous the pen is) was "Holy cow, is that lining leather?". That set me up for expecting a decent box for the Chiantishire, whose packaging totally blew me away. The accountant in me, however, wonders how much of the price of the pen is tied up in the packaging costs.

That said, I'm keeping boxes only for the "investment level" pens, or for those that I need to protect a bit (and hide from coworkers), like the Decimo I keep at work.

Did you notice that neon-laces girl actually had either a clutch purse or her freaking PHONE in her free hand? Having to drop it would slow down her reaction time if her other hand came free. If you are going to be suicidaly stupid, at least do it responsibly, lol.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Thursday delivery of my own Dark Ages. As much as I love the pretties of the Pelikan, I love the uniqueness of the material of the Visconti. Unlike others, I've had zero real issues with the nibs on my other Visconti; they float over the page.

The bathroom in the house in which I grew up had small white hex tiles on the bathroom floor, with the black at regular intervals. The border, too, was a check, though in blue and white (blue/white swirl tile on the walls). House was built around 1930.

Actually, these are great little lights. One in the glove box, one in the nightstand. Not a gigantic field of light, but in the area it covers, fantastic.

Baby Lila has been Lila since the storyline aired years ago. I don't remember seeing the unnamed markers and paperwork, but she was named at the time she was stillborn.
