technicalities, I would think his conviction would leave him wide open for

I don’t understand the Democrats reluctance to change the
rule.
If they are afraid that they will be disadvantaged if/when they are in the minority they don’t understand one basic truth; these republicans would change the rule in a heartbeat.

Democrats do a lot of bad things just like republicans that pain me severely when I hear it, so there are areas where they are equivalent. There is no getting around that the people we elect to public office are human and become corrupt by increasing ability to obtain power and wealth.

HOWEVER, republicans seem to bring a magnitude of hypocrisy,
spite and unflinching unadulterated evil to forefront that is worthy of
biblical wrath.

The reason they so enthusiastically embrace gerrymandering,
voter suppression and other methods of rigging the electoral process is they
are making themselves so repulsive to a thinking moral public they would be embarrassed
in any fair competition.

George Zimmerman can never face manslaughter/murder charges again. There are possible charges that can brought up against other parties if misdeeds related to the trial are found. If Zimmerman bribed the jurors he could be brought up on jury tampering, but never on the charges on which he was just acquitted.

In criminal cases the law is slanted toward a not guilty verdict. Once you have a not guilty verdict it can NOT be undone. Appeals work toward overturning a guilty verdict.
New information could lead to some new charge but these charges and lesser related charges can not be revisited. I think Federal civil rights violation charges are being considered, but these are different charges.
