I have several tatts on my arm and leg. I've seen a few parents look at them cautiously, then look at me, then look back at the tatts, seemingly trying to size me up. My son is in First grade and as the only single, gay dad with tattoos at my son's school I've decided that I'm just going to continue to be who I am and let the ignorant miss out on spending a great time with me. My hope is that people will eventually see that, as parents, we all have a lot of the same issues and questions -that we're more alike than they realize...and eventually change their minds about what a tattooed person is.

For the record, my experience, thus far, has shown that the moms are the first to warm up to me and my rapier wit. The dads follow shortly after and are always really cool and seem quite comfortable. Their kids aren't ever non-plussed and are mostly curious about my tattoos and ask tons of questions, which I answer honestly.

I hope Chip and his mom will ignore those people who find it easier to judge than to take the time to get to know them.

My first week has been interesting. The first few days were easy, as my awareness was higher. As the week progressed, I found that I generally watch porn out of habit, without even realizing I'm doing it. Usually I'll be on my iPad and next thing I know I've opened a porn site. Oddly 99% of the time I don't masturbate, I just click around looking at different kinds of porn. Mostly it happens when it bored. I've downloaded lift and will start tracking my porn behavior in a more tangible manner. :) thank you!

That's actually what I meant by 'project,' was the no porn challenge...my bad. I'm starting the challenge today. Fingers crossed.....and zipper closed. ;)
