Humans are adaptable. So I'll adapt because I must. But I don't have to like it.
If I were buying a phone today, it would NOT be a windows phone. All the unique attributes are being stripped out, leaving just the inherent flaws - like the barren apps environment. And the 'ability' to invoke Cortana by just grabbing your phone wrong. Even an android knockoff is a better buy now.
Changing because "it's what everyone else is doing" is a great philosophy. I think we shoud drill it into all of our kids.
If I did what everyone else did growing up, I'd be dead from a drug overdose, DUI or cancer from smoking.
I wish MS luck with the "Us too" approach.
Screw it. I'll enjoy my Windows Phone for as long as I can, then eventually migrate to some other crap-phone, because by that time, they will all be the same.
I'm not angry - despite the tone of this post. Just disheartened and profoundly disappointed.

Re: Microsoft Brings OTA TV Capabilities to Xbox One in the US and Canada

I guess this better than nothing, but given how fragile the US OTA ATSC system can be, it may not be much better.
I see broadcasters whining that viewership is steadily declining, yet they make getting their content harder - either technically or legally.
Still more reason to mourn the loss of solutions like Aereo.

Re: East Meets West 202 – Streamys or Steamys?

Happy half decade. (Half decayed?) I remember when EMW was in the single digits... my how it's grown. :)
Do you guys have any thoughts/opinions of the dust-up between Neil Armstrong, Jim Lovell etc & Buzz Aldrin over Pres Obama's plan to downsize NASA? I grew up in NASA's golden age & was a big fan, but since they scrapped the later moon missions & threw together the "space-truck" LEO shuttle program, it seems like they were just killing time. It's as if the early settlers got to Ohio & stopped looking west, instead talking about how they could develop and commercialize the land they already settled. Bo-Ring! While I loved the bold missions and intrepid sense of conquest of 1960s NASA - always pushing the envelope & advancing science & medicine, I'm underwhelmed by what the manned space program has become. Maybe it should be put out of it'misery - at least until we have a mission worthy of it or it's successor. Orion is just a pork project to reinvent what we lost from the 60s. I think Obama is a big enough geek that if NASA was really breaking new ground and moving us forward as a nation, he would be one of it's biggest supporters. Maybe it's time to put the manned space program on a subsistence diet it until we find it a worthy goal.
What do you think?

Re: Weight loss update

Those are excellent results!
