The "good government" era was put in place by a bipartisan effort led by Dan Evans - even while he was in the legislator before becoming governor for twelve years beginning in 1964 - and accomplished much, including the sunshine laws. If this bill stands, any semblance of that as policy in the state of Washington is gone and forgotten. We are a political machine state now just like Illinois or California.

Thanks for this report Feliks! As a Boy Scout, I did the Hike-In that day, 10 miles up to Bothell, then turned around and hiked back - for the 20 mile hike needed for Hiking Merit Badge. Today I bike the B-G several times a month - btw it needs a LOT of work, the pavement is in bad shape!

We need to call on the Mayor and Governor to do more to protect at-risk communities (like the homeless) as well as the rest of us - from the clearly dangerous mentally ill. It is important not to lump the victims in with the perpetrator and rail against the "homeless" - this is a failure (once again) by State DSHS and the City of Seattle to provide basic public safety. Mayor Murray and Governor Inslee do you even care?

As an experienced cyclist, I have been looking for something like this for a long time. And have to say, spent much more than what the KickStarter level is requiring for participation - on inferior products from big name bike brands. I'm more than happy to back this project!

What is "interesting" is that Meryl Streep chose to stridently judge Walt Disney's character based on this letter. All I am adding is a touchpoint from the era that differs from Streep's viewpoint. I'm not trying to play gotcha, how about you?

Interesting, since my wife's Grandmother worked as an animator in Hollywood (Warner Bros. Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera Productions, and was at Disney from 1952 until her retirement in 1966). She trained as a commercial artist and photographer in Minneapolis, and then went to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams, which she did with gusto working on many of the classic cartoon series in the 30's and 40's, and after that the great Disney animated features. She was a friend of Walt, and retired the year after he passed away. In some ways, after Walt passed, the work was not the same for her. The records are all there in the Disney archives. I'd like to see Meryl Streep keep in mind that one letter does not an historical conclusion draw.

Acholi Times, who wrote this story? Did you "fact check" these so-called allegations? No, you didn't, because this story is hogwash. Look at the facts about and interview Invisible Children yourself, please! Take a look at the accomplishments of this organization bringing to the world's attention to end the IDP crisis, of the Schools for Schools program helping rebuild schools all over northern Uganda, the jobs created by MEND, and advocacy on behalf of policies to support development aid for recovery from the war (and more). If you did, you would not print lies like this hit piece. By the way, I am not affiliated with Invisible Children - I just know the facts, unlike the people who wrote this propaganda, I have been in Gulu going back over the last decade, and have been in northern Uganda in the past few weeks (September 2013). - P. Tom, I'm shocked and saddened that 1) Bill Gates would feel the need to resort to ad hominem against anyone, that's never been his style. But even more 2) that Trey is so "unencumbered by facts" about the substance of Dr. Moyo's point of view, much less the content of her book Dead Aid. Clearly Gates has not read the book, or chooses to forget what it said. This is a very serious attack. It goes against everything I understood the BMGF to be about in terms of dialogue and raising the level of discourse in civil society - and it is just not the Seattle way.
