There isn't any navigation structure that allows the user to go "back" to the login screen.

Re: Wild Turkey Rare Breed Bourbon Review

Good review. The issue here is two different form factors. Also it seems like Apple may be releasing a new iPhone in the fall. It might be worthwhile to poll folks to find out what sizes you would need to have created?

Re: Mysterious Black & Gold Wax Maker’s Mark Bourbon Review

It really makes me wonder about Maker's if they threaten to lower the proof point of their standard product yet had produced these for international markets. I can't really pass judgement, but it seems like they'd be able to grow their US market if they made these more interesting releases available to their already engaged fan base. Amazing article Rush!

Re: Beer Fashioned Cocktail

I've never considered using beer in an old fashioned, but this sounds delicious!

Re: Wishing you all a Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays!

I've been hanging onto a Drinks by the Dram bottle of William Larue Weller 2011 release. I've found more value in your book for the ways that it's made me reevaluate my goals and my processes which i use in my life than for any other reason. I've lent it out to several friends to read, all of whom have found it at least "interesting."

Now hoping to win a book for a potential signature and the value of that signature, seems very materialistic. I hope no one enters for that reason alone. The book is far too valuable.

(Yes, this post did make me check my book and it is a First Edition, however I wouldn't think of selling it.)

###

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the comment. By the wording, I assume you mean the ethical bribe part of the competition. Or the e-mail? In either case, I'm very happy that different people get different things from the book. For the competition, I'm just giving a little incentive to those who need the push, and it doesn't hurt me to offer the books, so I figure: why not?

I want people to take disruptive action, but there's a lot competing for attention, so I throw a bit in the mix to make it more compelling. Most won't do it for the books, but a few will, and once they test the concepts, they'll find the rewards from that to be the main motivator.

I just need to get their foot in the door.

It's all just a big experiment, so we'll see how it pans out :) Have a great weekend...

Tim

Re: How to Survive a Physical Attack: Punches and Chokes

Tim, what about small joint manipulation? While technically illegal by traditional wrestling terms, I'd read of martial arts where by controlling the fingers or thumbs or your opponent you can control their arm movement to help defend an attack.

Re: Listening to Satellite Radio…

Robert, I too believe that you should be paid in some form for the value you are bringing to a company or site, but in terms of outcome I'm at a loss. Going with netscape's idea to pay those who give them the most content... Well how much of that will be garbage? For example, I'm a fairly regular poster over at Microsoft's ProjectOrigami forums, and well despite sheer number of posts i'd say that 30% or so of them were responses to something in a thread, and maybe not the most informative.

Now in terms of the way a person is paid or rewarded, do you say per post, per click, per comment? I'd much more see a person who rarely updates but always has an interesting bit of news or advice over the kid who posts countless times a day about irrelevant stuff.

Do you reward someone who creates greater volume of content, or someone who provides higher quality content? I think that is the issue here really.

Re: It’s a bloody big ad

That's what the Aussies can do.
I fear what Seattle coffee drinkers would do if they came up with a marketing idea of that magnitude.

I fear that ad caffeine. :-/

Re: Little Scoble starts his blog

Kevin i really like the new layout :-)
