I am proud of your deep response to my comments and remarks. I can see how I can come off disgruntled but that was not my purpose. A debate about a subject matter is a healthy form of a disagreement allowing both sides to have equal input. Think of it more of reaching out for someone to prove me wrong rather than just slandering the catholic faith. The only reason I went after this faith is because in the previous posts it was the only one mentioned. As far as me being a hypocrite, sure I am one in the eyes of the church but I would think I was a hypocrite if I didn't search for these answers and just accept what the church teaches. The only thing you didn't quite get was the mention of helping those around me after katrina, this was just an example that people can be of good character without the church. I think it is all in how you would respect those around you and lend a hand to those in need. Just keep in mind I am not fighting you, just making you prove your point. As far as the world being a better place without religion, I think the young kid might be on to something, Religion is what causes people to hate, it is what causes people to kill, and it causes chaos. I am glad to see you are at least open to the idea that other religions have good intentions as well, but you must know people that out right say other religions are wrong and theirs is right. All religions have the same basic stories told in the likeness of the culture surrounding it. They all believe in a higher power and want the best for mankind, but only those in their religion, and yes some are more extreme than others. Well I truly enjoyed this little debate and lets just hope you practice what you preach and always try to be a better person than I am. ;)

Re: Nostradamus predictions

I never said anything about priests being more than men, nor did I ever say I didnt believe in God. I believe in a higher being I just don't feel that I need it channeled to me through the catholic faith or any faith out there. I am being open minded by hearing out and accepting what would be radical by the catholic faith. You would never accept evolution or anything close to it. That is close minded, no matter how much proof they have on the matter you would choose the bible over the truth. Does it ever make you wonder why there is so much debate on the conversion of the bible into modern language. Does that not make you think that maybe your favorite verse that you live by was interpreted incorrectly. The point is that the catholic faith is smart in their ways and would never make their patrons do or act out in a way that would cause world wide controversy. Because unlike david koresh they intend to last, he obviously didn't. In the 1500's the catholic faith ordered the death of thousands, stole money from the poor , popes on a money hungry craze. A good number of other religions were formed because of the unreasonable ways of the catholic church. Its one thing to use the bible for guidance, but when you start fighting everything from modern discoveries to scientific theory based on what is written in the bible is just crazy to me. And I never said the discovery channel was fact, but i am sure some of the things are and it was research done based on history, the same history that biblical scholars study and use for the catholic faith. I don't need a priest to make me a better person, I do things for my family, my friends and my community. I live in the area hit by hurricane Katrina and helped all of those around me. The catholic faith is very hypocritical, they say not to judge others, but most catholic parishioners are the most judgmental. It seems you just made a bunch of assumptions about what I said instead of responding to my post. You go on and on about priests, you obviously missed the point that the church hides these molestations, priests were not the subject of the matter. If a priest is supposed to be so pius, why do they live in houses better than some of their parishioners. They should live below their poorest parishioner. If they give up sexual activities, why don't they give up more. Just like anybody else I debate about religions and the catholic faith you just feed me the same old bullshit I always hear, it eventually just turns to well you have to have faith. Thats their final ammo. Over time a lot of things that were considered to be blasphemy by the church, is now revoked and accepted. That alone proves a flaw, and the minute the pope says its now accepted, everyone without question follows this. Please reply with something a little more relevant if you are going to reply at all.

Re: Nostradamus predictions

Ya'll are all crazy, if from when you were born i told you that baboons were gods and they rule all things on earth that is what you would believe, so all you religious people have been told from birth that everything in the bible is true and to believe nothing else, and you idiots actually do it, think for yourself for once, all of history was written by only 5 % of people that lived, telling false stories and tales, i bet history would not be the same if the lower class people that couldnt read or write told their stories, Just like nostradomus wrote general statements about everything and people have figured out ways to fit them into chance occurences someone had just beat him to it, and that was the "men of god". Science works on fact alone and until the facts prove it right it is only theory, yet the bible has no proof of anything in it and people hold it to the highest truth. I was raised and confirmed catholic , but i think with an open mind, and the catholic faith doesn't want you to question the faith because it easily looks like crap. How can you boast about a religion who has priests that molest and take advantage of little boys and there way of fixing the problem is to transfer the priest to a new community unless there is a big enough public report of the situation, bottom line is that all religions are business's and like any business they will do and say anything to stay alive. There is a great show on discovery channel or national geographic that came on recently discussing the catholic faith as a business. All you believers would be shocked and appalled at the things the Vatican has done just in the past 100 years to ensure their religion looks golden. But none of you would believe these facts because it goes against your bible. And that is where the main problem evolves. And no matter how much proof against the faith they bring you will still continue to believe. So when people say how could the people of jonestown and the followers of david koresh would be so stupid to believe that crap, you are no different, they were his cattle and never questioned what what he was doing. Religion is just a crutch for those people who are scared to accept the fact that one day they to will die. So lets see what verse you can pull out the bible to counter my statements. I am sure there is one general enough to use against my rhetoric.
