Homewood was great today. No wind issues, no lines, and plenty of pow. Keep them in mind next time it's windy everywhere else. They could certainly use the business after a rough season last year!

Nope - haven't updated it since it was first written. The Route53 domain alias stuff is definitely the way to go these days though. Happily using it on many sites, though haven't moved ec2instances.info over yet (the bucket name is currently "www.ec2instances.info" so I'll have to move it to an "ec2instances.info" bucket before Route53 will let me use it for the root domain alias).

Thanks for this. I was very surprised to see Amazon provide these complex files with so little explanation. Makes me think there aren't very many people using CloudWatch logs with Elastic Beanstalk.

You can also use use the migration tool in Disqus to update your URLs: https://help.disqus.com/cus... (not sure if this was available at the time this post was written, but I know that they've offered post URL migration via email support for years)

Can you email support@hipchat.com with more detail about your setup? We don't start using the webcam until you make a call, so this sounds like a bug that needs fixing.

We didn't include it initially since it adds UI complexity, but clearly a lot of people want it so we'll reconsider. It's not a top priority for us at the moment though.

Yes, all history is still stored so that you could access it after subscribing to Plus.

You can export your history if needed for legal/other reasons; http://help.hipchat.com/kno..., though it would also be limited to 25k messages. Just drop us a line at support@hipchat.com if this is a big pain point for you though. It is not our goal to hold data hostage.

On the Basic plan you can scroll back and search through your last 25,000 messages (shared across all rooms/chats).

On the Plus plan you can scroll back and search through all the history you have. You also get the option to disable history retention entirely if that's important to your team. Additional "only store history for X days" options will be coming in the future as well.

That's correct - the knobs for controlling history retention are not provided on the Basic (free) plan.

From that screenshot it looks like you might be running the old AIR app. The gray area in the native Mac app (hipchat.com/downloads) looks slightly different.

Oops, this was a grammatical oversight due to Sarah's self-description as being "East-Indian". We now know that 'east' the direction is not a proper noun, and I've changed it to 'eastern' to be even more clear. Sorry about that!

Edit: And upon further investigation, it looks like "East India" is not a dated term anyway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik.... We'll leave it edited anyway though.

The supported tags are listed in the docs. We don't allow stye font tag or style attribute, so there's currently no way to tweak the font.
