haha So many new and shiny things! It really can be horribly distracting. I spend way too much time agonizing over which new shiny thing to use for a side project (that I'll never finish).

I guilty admit I gave up on Serial. It wasn't on purpose. I think some book came out that I really wanted to listen to and I fell off the podcast wagon. By the time I got back I didn't care as much anymore. Blasphemous, I know.

I will check out all the others you mentioned.

It's weird to me that there are still "works best in X" sites out there. Seems like standards should have caught up enough by now to make that a thing of the past.

I don't think you have anything to feel badly about. Some situations truly are crappy. There have been plenty of times I've needed an outlet. The difference is you gave it 110% to make make things work while I put in 70% and complained a lot. :)

Whoa. I'm glad you woke up. (understatement)

I actually lost a laptop a few years back and it was awesome not having to worry about it (full backup + the hard drive had been fully encrypted). I use Backblaze for online backup. It's pretty cheap and works perfectly. I also hear good things about CrashPlan. And BitCasa, but they're still in closed beta.
