That's the one depressing thing about studying econ at Mason. You're the black sheep. No matter how convincing your arguments are, you'll never win. Or so it seems like. That or you sound like an asshole because you don't care if people in Detroit become unemployed.

yes, I go to Mason. They're all quite excellent. Some are quite senile and need to retire, but they are endlessly entertaining.

I feel your pain.
I study economics at a school that is heavily, and I do emphasize, HEAVILY, funded by libertarians/conservatives, namely the Koch Foundation.
So while we study free trade economics, we have to deal with the usual emotional liberal bullshit.
As one of my professors said, "Typical emotional liberals. Facts be damned"
