I want to read this book because I love Tolkien and Lewis! Finding threads of Catholicism and theology in their works is so rewarding, and I want to learn more about two of my favorite authors and how their theology inspires their writing.

The Catholicism DVD set helped me more fully understand the Church's teaching of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and in a way, brought me back to church. I would be most excited to receive that!

I, too, have found the importance of taking something on for Lent, otherwise worded as giving of your time or energy. I also find the importance of giving up something not to be that it normally drives a wedge between you and God, but that it's something you highly value. That way, if you give it up, any time you are tempted or urged to consume it, you have to think about your sacrifice. That has been the challenge for me: not just thinking, "Oops, gave up coffee for Lent," but actually giving a few seconds of thought to what that sacrifice symbolizes.

Also, I have had dreams where I'll wake up and keep my emotions from the dream. A few years ago, I was in a pretty tense argument with a friend. In the dream, we worked it all out and made up. I woke up feeling relieved, only to discover nothing of the sort had happened. Last week, I dreamt that I was still in grad school and was badly failing a class. I knew that if I failed out of grad school, I woudn't get a job. I woke up and was in a panic for about 30 seconds, wondering how on earth I was going to pass that class, only to realize I already graduated and already had a job.

I, too, often have tooth-loss dreams (I'm guessing because of my baby tooth). A lot of what I learned about dreams, I learned in General Psychology. According to my prof, the legitimacy of any kind of dream interpretation is BUPKIS. He did say it was sort of a way for your mind to organize all the information it receives (that's why sleeping the night before a test is more beneficial than staying up to cram). I always figured it was similar to defragging a computer. Our brains are sorting out information, so it's just flying all over the place and coming through in our dreams. I'll agree with my prof that dreams don't interpret to mean anything, but it is definitely fun to remember them and talk about them.

The University should do a Facebook album of Fred Faulk photos. I always get stuck staring at the ones on the wall in Allen Hall.

I tend to pull for money. If an SEC team is in a big name bowl game, I will pull for them because I know State gets a cut. However, I did not pull for Alabama in the National Championship (I just couldn't cheer for them claiming their 217th national title) and I tend not to pull for Ole Miss in football ever. Other sports, I am not too concerned. I pulled for Ole Miss in the NIT and I'll pull for SEC in basketball. After that, I couldn't care less. When it comes to football, I'll pull for any SEC team except Ole Miss, Bama, LSU and Auburn.
