But for supporting customers in our Mobile App this really fell short.

First, the promise of this being self service is simply not met. Actually your marketing video is flat out disingenuous in this regard.

I turned this on and there is no way for my mobile app users to help themselves. They need to talk to one of our support people. There is no access to the help center.

When they get us (sometimes hours later depending on the time zone), we can respond by attaching an article. The article card looks great on our side but to our customers it's rendered as a link. Tapping that takes them out of our app. We did that in the past and our customers hate it for obvious reasons.

I can't even embed these cards in our auto messages.

I would be happy to put up with this until you finish proper mobile integration but as a small start-up I can't justify $49/mo for an incomplete product. Sadly, continuing to link to help articles on our community forum is just as good. We get feedback from users on the thread, analytics and everything else.

I love you guys but your product costs keep on going up and the value received doesn't justify it for our startup.

Call this a beta for your mobile first customers and that would make me happy. Otherwise I gotta cancel 🙁

Re: Now on Windows Phone: Dragons Adventure World Explorer

We translated the game into Russian but like I told Hradayesh, we are not quite there with the 920. We love the 920 and will support it in the next update. Good to see all the love here for the 920. The game producer uses it as his daily driver so we are right there with ya! We wanted to be sure we nailed the performance on the 920 first. It's looking good so you will see it in our next update.

Re: Dragons Adventure: World Explorer takes off on Windows Phone

Pete here from Microsoft. It happens to the best of us. Here are 2:

* Using quantitative methods to measure and improve user experience. (e.g. analytics, metrics, heat maps as a compliment to usability testing, etc)
* Continuation of "The first 6 steps to homegrowing basic startup analytis". I would love to hear about the next stage when you want to augment your home grown systems. What 3rd party analysis tools are available? For example at the company that I am consulting for now, navigation is fairly complex and I would like to understand user movement throughout the site. Perhaps this is the same as my first idea but you could take it in different directions.

Re: I have blogger’s block!

Hi Paul -

I am currently consulting for Savings.com. I am new to this particular business but I will put my $0.02 in. Are you referring to folks pooling their money to get discounts on products purchased in bulk? I have tossed this idea around but haven't researched it in depth.

Regarding coupons, so far I have not seen an affiliate program that rewards this specific type of consumer behavior. To address your technical question, affiliate programs use tracking codes and cookies to payout referrals.

pete

Re: The first 6 steps to homegrowing basic startup analytics

When I suggested this post I had not idea you were gonna blow it out like this. Awesome work Andrew!

Regarding #3 User flows: I would love some more detail about collecting and reporting data as it pertains to user flows. GA does a decent job with funnels but I have found it limiting. How do you approach collection and reporting and what tools do you use?

Re: Books that I recommend to friends

FYI - Load time on FF3/Leopard was >10 seconds.
