Is this expected? What recommendations are there for request vs limit (specifically a development use case so overcommit less a concern)

Re: RHEL 9 VM guests on M1 processors with macOS Ventura

Though I do use podman, sometimes remote, it’s what I recommend ‘generally’ as it has the best ease of use whilst remaining free of commercial license constraints. The only gotcha I hit is that qemu’s networking as setup by rancher struggles with ICMP

Re: Running IntellJ IDEA with JDK 17 for Better Render Performance with Metal

Thanks so much! Ok so chargers are getting more reliable, but still even the new chargers are being installed 1 or 2 at most locations. Occasionally there's 4/8 or more but it's rarer. Tesla - it's 8/12/16/24 ..... that's quite a difference. The ioniq looks amazing, but if I was driving a lot of LD, the tesla still surely rules (I have to decide between the two - current car goes back in april! help!)

Re: Smart Ticketing: The way ahead

Barcodes help with this a little, but NFC is much easier from a user's perspective

Re: Smart Ticketing: The way ahead

My local (SWR) station/route apparently doesn't allow smart tickets yet. My local operator (SWR) doesn't sell single/return smartcard tickets online. Smartcards are (IMO) being superceeded by contactless/apple pay/android pay, so THAT is where we need integration. I'd like to be able to have an app on my phone, buy my journey ticket, and use phone or watch to validate as I travel. Even better extend it to all contactless cards as with tfl (though I know the price range variation of tickets poses a greater challenge). Anywhere, any device

Re: BMW i3 vs Volkswagen e-Golf vs Nissan Leaf vs Renault ZOE

'best' is always a subjective time as it depends on your needs. Some pages are very quick -such as social media, though facebook upload is SO slow. I've had issues with buying train & attraction tickets, downloading apps, let alone vpn, tethering, streaming. I'm verging on leaving three now.....

I also noticed the MASSIVE battery drain too -- I'd set about 20+ photos to upload to facebook and the app took about a day to upload them.... in the meantime I had to be tethered to a powerpack due to massive drain.

Frankly it's very poor

Re: What Is the Difference between iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus?

Now that's a great question.

best sensible comparison article so far which sums up my thoughts. As to whether to upgrade - most of the changes I'm not bothered about. Shame battery isn't a bigger leap, or new screen tech. BUT the camera leap is appealing... in fact that's pretty much what it comes down to for me. Do I want better telephoto and portrait photos. Errr. Yes! I think that could be what swings my hands onto the keyboard and across my credit card....... Sigh, I thought I'd got off lightly this year.

Worth noting apple now have broadened their upgrade programme to include UK & China as well as the US

Re: Here’s How Many People Are on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & Other Big Social Networks

How about the chinese networks - qq / wechat etc? A lot of pre-release experimentation with Active E etc, then innovative MATERIAL design with the CFP in i3/i8 let alone the electric power done in 2 different ways. Now serious electrification happening throughout the range. Impressive. The other manufacturers are ramping up too. I don't think they'll be left out at all, they'll adapt.

Re: Three customers furious over steep bills hike – here's what you can do about it

Thanks Lucy but my prior experience with o2 was poor with data /3G and roaming not good value...
