I'm going to try this (will have to try later as domain section keeps telling me "there was a problem adding your domain. No, you won't."

Totally disagree with you... tho I think it is true for the pixelpeepers, the vast majority of filmmakers don't care and shouldn't care. It is all about the story.

The audiences care about STORY period. They don't really care whether it was shot at 10bit or 8bit or on film. They care about STORY.

Yes, I get that there's a good amount of story in the presentation, many of us care about the looks (and the audio), but 99% of audiences don't care at all about the look. Hell, they're watching on a freaking smartphone.

Re: First Ever Black Hole Photo Captured by Telescope

good point ;)

Re: First Ever Black Hole Photo Captured by Telescope

Umm... the info from the press conference said the black hole is 55 million light years away - not 26,000. There are plenty of people out here buying the Light L16 and happily using it on a daily basis.

Does it do everything we hoped? Not yet. But to say it has poisoned the future development I think not.

I could go on, but you've already decided it is a failure... when there are plenty of people who disagree. But that won't change your mind.

Re: Good money after bad? I just happen to be very passionate about this topic and because of the meetings I had with Light, I probably know a bit more than everyone else. Not bragging, but it is often all in what you know. But everyone's experience is different and I often forget that.

Foxconn invested in Light 4 years ago. I'd bet they have the exclusive for smartphone tech with regard to Light.

I bet Foxconn would totally disagree with you on the smartphone application or they wouldn't have invested millions either. People with a smartphone are NOT looking to replace a DSLR but many of them do want better looking images!

So Softbank is after totally different stuff here. And they obviously know a whole lot more than you or I do or they wouldn’t have invested in Light.

AND, if you saw the comments of CEO of Light... THEY weren't thinking about the auto sector either! They sure didn't mention it to me when I met with them.

BUT they also told me they knew there would be uses for Light technology they hadn't thought of yet... which is why licensing is going to be the key to their success IMHO.

It was never JUST about building a smaller camera. This is a much bigger pie!!!!

Re: Good money after bad? Of course not. You didn't make time to learn about the camera's capabilities and expect everything to be pixel perfect. Everyone who has glanced at the user guide knows that the 28mm images won't be perfect along the outer edges because of the way the Light L16 uses its multiple lenses.

Very disappointing "review"

Re: Apology Could 'Fundamentally Change' Apple

Just how many pages did you split this story across?
