Quite an endorsement. I think character matters and Beard's should be scrutinized if considered. He has the results to back it up.

He might have the best job out there. No one cares about hoops success but has the football money to spend. Would be hard to leave Tuscoosa.

Not sure how you can cheat in college anymore. He's got more fire at 63 than I did at 33. Keeping him out of frat parties might be a problem.

Funny how Fife has been involved in multiple chapters of IU's descent. He lobbies to get Mike Davis hired then does something to get fired upon his return under a reunited program after RMK's homecoming. Not blaming him for anything. Just odd.

If I'm Ware, I would not want to risk injury in NIT. His draft stock is about as high as it can be since showcasing an NCAA run is not available to him.

If you go back to his intro presser, it was pretty clear he had that ambition. From a distance, I love his mentality. It was on display as a leader in his playing days, but not sure how much I'd like it on a daily basis. Wish him great success, though!

You don't get to choose your players in NBA. A few haves and many have nots. I'm not saying hire Woody, but if he was coaching the Lakers right now, people would say he's a pretty good coach. Just feels like an odd fit, but if he surrounded himself with hardcore recruiters and player development types, maybe Woodson could be the right guy.

I can't believe there aren't more favorable comments about Beard rather than the disappointment over long odds against others. I'd be thrilled with Beard.
