A review

I really enjoyed this tribute to Johnny, and I always looked forward to watching The King at work. He made it look easy. It was wonderful to hear what others had to say about him. Johnny always had extremely current events at the forefront, and his ability to capture the public sentiment about serious issues though humor I found extraordinary. He wound this thread with a critique of the writing, his personal take on the situation, and snippets of his personal life into fun that currently defies replication. Conan said he could analyze it, but that neither he, nor anyone else, could creatively swipe it. That defines unparalleled performance skill. Johnny was the master.

Re: Stocks: Brace for slower, bumpier ride higher - Apr. 3, 2012

Ben is just doing his job as he sees best. And the scoundrel who said he was doing God's work was Goldman's Blankfein. Increasing the money supply during an economic depression or recession is sound economic activity backed by academia and research. Ben got his PhD on the economics of the depression, and he is acting consistently with respect to what he learned and wrote about then. Look to those who dismantled Glass-Steagall for the bubble enablers and Blankfein and his fellow Wall Street scoundrels as the villianous bubble creators.

Re: Judith Warner on Girl Scout Cookie Controversies | TIME Ideas | TIME.com

Faux News now is attacking Girl Scouts? Hack their phones while you are at it.

Re: Suspended For Tebowing, Really?

Student-led activities such as these are fine. Teachers or administrators cannot lead them.

Re: Are you scientifically literate? And theoretically correct, I might add. And thank you for sharing your credentials as a rocket scientist. I was involved in developing space shuttle simulators for a few years, as well as taught college engineering, admittedly it was computer engineering, which only dealt with the physicof digital logic and above. If it was above 2.2 volts it was a 1, below 1.8 volts, it was a 0. Inbetween, we are not so sure. hahaha yet I do not claim I have the world cornered on brains.

Sometimes from a practical standpoint small differences make no difference. It might be a little extreme to consider that a difference in acceleration, no matter how infinitesimal makes a measurable difference. Would you not agree that a difference in acceleration so small that it does not exceed the precision of the instrumentation sufficiently rigorous for a particular experiment? Experiments must be practical if they are to be performed as other than thought experiments. I look forward to your judgment on such a matter.

I missed some of the bio questions. But not too bad for an old electrical engineer.

Thanks

Pat

Re: Are you scientifically literate? I wanted to be capable to appreciate the language or defrock it. Most comments focus on the language use; the point of the article is not discussed by most. And so I find the genius of this article lies in placing the reader in the defrauded investor's state of mind: focusing on the upper crusty delivery while losing their money.

Of course Matoff is no anomaly; he is the culture of the street. But ripping off $50 billion from your friends of 30 years, your relatives, and charities, does strike me as particularly disgusting. Call me cynical, but I don’t expect a remedy any time soon.
