If you're nerdy and you know it, get involved in WordPress Stack Exchange. It's incredibly rewarding to solve a problem that you had, then see your solution voted up year after year. WordPress.org forums are absolutely horrible for support, because the threads you need answers from are always "closed" even though nobody resolved the problem, and there's no way to downvote the really bad advice which WordPress.org is notorious for, due to all the amateur bloggers there with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. If you need WordPress assistance, I specialize in design modifications but I can build or fix just about anything WordPress-related, from the server level up. Tomakefast.com for details. I don't outsource the work and I'm told my rate is cheap ;-)

WPS Office for spreadsheets is awesome, I like it more than LibreOffice because of pinch-zoom and scrolling is very easy. Also compatibility is perfect with formulas, formatting, etc. As for the 2nd con, I found "Opera" solves that, you get the desktop version every time which is helpful for sites like LinkedIn.

Hi. You would get less spam by going back to WordPress (Akismet-filtered) comments. And you need to turn on some of the moderation functions, such as only allowing one hyperlink. That would block most of these horrible comments. If you need some WordPress help, let me know. Look me up on LinkedIn.

Until Twitter is sold to Yahoo or Microsoft and people stop using it. Then you realize you built up a property that doesn't belong to you. Focus more on promoting your dot-com and/or mailing list, these should stand the test of time better. Twitter is another "here today gone tomorrow" technology. Compuserve, Galacticom, ICQ, nobody remembers them now.

Ideally these would also tell me who is hosting the DNS (according to each server--is that even possible?) because sometimes the IP address is the same before/after propagation (in that case, these tools are mostly useless) for example, if you're switching from your host's DNS to a faster 3rd party DNS service.

Doesn't it take a while to get a Coinbase account (Overstock's Bitcoin payment processor) maybe a week to get a bank account approved, maybe another week to actually buy the coins? So maybe the February numbers will be more telling.

I hear it's most popular where governments are the most oppressive, where it's hardest to transfer money. I assume that's why it was created. So maybe it won't be that popular in the US. Bitcoin will flourish with or without any particular country, because people want to grow wealthy. Speaking of the US, a ton of people are unhappy with the dollar, isn't that obvious? Even if he wasn't elected, look how popular Ron Paul is. Many people want dollars backed by gold and a smaller government. I bet Libertarians love Bitcoin. Anyway, national borders don't exist online and with proxy servers, I don't think anyone can know for sure which countries/groups are really using Bitcoin.

Maybe you're forgetting it took years for Bitcoin to get this much traction? There's a lot of software now made specifically for Bitcoin. That software takes time to create. Without all that software, buying and selling Bitcoin is a pain. So the ecosystem, all the software and tools should keep Bitcoin going for a long time. Also Bitcoin is open source. So no secret backdoor, like Microsoft Windows for example ;-) No greedy corporation behind it, just waiting to monetize the **** out of it.

That said, I don't own any Bitcoin at the moment. But yes I'm slightly biased because I think everyone in the technology community will benefit from Bitcoin's success. Also, I'm now accepting Bitcoin for the services I provide.

In the long run (maybe after I'm dead) I think Bitcoins (or some forked improvement) will mostly replace paper money the same way the Internet has mostly replaced newspapers. The smallest Bitcoin unit is 0.00000001 BTC which I assume Satoshi figured would be worth 1 penny eventually, at which point people would realize this guy was really thinking ahead, LOL.

Does Greenspan really believe what he's saying here? Even if he's senile, I doubt he can't hire someone to explain how Bitcoin works and then give us his real opinion of Bitcoin. How Bitcoin works is no secret, all the code is out there in the open for years now. Unlike the dollar which is manipulated behind closed doors. Money has changed forever. If you went back in time and killed Satoshi, somebody else would have invented P2P money. P2P is the future. However, P2P adds a lot of complexity and deciding which nodes to trust is a lot of work. So P2P replacements of non-P2P systems will take time, it won't happen overnight. Twitter and Facebook will eventually be replaced by P2P equivalents, too.

This would be fun but I'd hate to switch to Vim or anything not standard in terms of keystrokes. If I can't get basics like Shift-End to select to the end of a line, I'd be killing 30 years of productivity from my fingers. As much as I'd like a cool tablet, I'll probably stick with Debian (Crunchbang) as long as possible. My laptop recently died, which is why I'm here actually. I'll probably buy the same laptop again.

Misleading headline. Should be "How-to choose a mobile niche." 80% of mobile is games & Facebook. And mobile is only 9.2% of online ad revenue. So if you're not selling games, mobile is less than 2% of the pie.
