Not even a trace of this poor guy. Hindsight here is 20/20 but if he had an InReach pocket communicator they would have got him. If it was possible for authorities to track his phone signal even without a tower. A rescuer could mimic a mobile tower with a backpack setup . Here in Alberta there is a lot of territory to get lost in. And no cell service.

with the overgrowth in there its like here in Canada with me losing my keys in the snow, if I didn't have a tracker on them I would have never found them. too bad most cell phones couldn't be tracked by some kind of third party mission impossible device, it would lead to a lot more successful retrievals.

Wise advice Annie especially with winter on its way. Alberta is way ahead of some provinces in regards to highways. Theres about 300km of muskeg they have to get through, everytime I drive by it amazes me the engineering and construction on that 63.

With you on sustainability but moose are so prolific here in newfoundland that there alot of car collisions and fatalities as a result. That being said moose meat is some of the most delectable I've tasted. Wondering when "no reservations" will take a trip to "the rock" and savour some of this most excellent of fare.
