I read this twice and I'm still not sure I understand what the actual complaint is. I've spent many 100s of hours with the Switch in handheld mode without any real issues; at home, on vacation, in a park, on planes/trains/subways/buses. Battery life isn't terrific but I've usually got a power bank on me for phone/tablet/etc anyways. I absolutely agree that some games are better suited for one mode or the other but I don't see how that's a failing of the system itself.
