I will try it after the disk image downloads.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I tried to use the "Distribution Upgrade" option in Ubuntu 8.04 to achieve a working 8.10 setup on a similar machine, and had several problems:&lt;br&gt; 1. X drivers and screen resolution stuck in low-graphics mode,&lt;br&gt; 2. No sound, and&lt;br&gt; 3. Repository conflicts. (Security updates, especially, not findable.)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do these things work for you? In detail,&lt;br&gt; 1. What graphics resolution do you have?&lt;br&gt; 2. Can you play sound? Does YouTube show videos properly?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The power supply in my unit is very loud. You say you replaced yours. Does a standard PC power supply work in this box, or is something unique, special, and expensive required? ("The Apple tax.")
