The very last thing we need is to privatize Medicare. If anything we need to expand it to be our entire healthcare system and be done. Much better system - remove the profit motive in all aspects and care improves while cost decreases. No brainer.

I very rarely disagree with you Jim - but here is the time it has happened. I haven't beaten it, but this feels like the more full, more realized version of the first game (one that was already quite good on its own). That said I certainly respect what was said here and understand where you're coming from.

I'll repost here what I put on the dissenting opinion:

TBC/ATB is extremely fun, that being said I think it's a system that is now a starting point rather than a truly viable option when the world, as a whole, is savvy. I'm sure developers can create interesting, if still fundamentally flawed, systems that we all can enjoy a fair amount - sometimes for nostalgia, sometimes because there just isn't a way to present some combat situations that works better.

FFVII not having it is fine by me. We have the original version in its best looking state on PS4 now, so by all means make the remake a new experience for us. Give me something fresh so I don't just feel like I've painted my car but didn't swap out any engine parts but expect to be dazzled.

Like, if it were $45 and then the expansions were $7 a piece, totaling $73 after 4 of them, that would be more than the average game - and still fair. I'd be fine even with that. The total they are expecting people to pay for the full game, though. Wow.

The problem with that statement is that PC culture doesn't exist. "PC culture" would be a bunch of people having a laugh over censoring people who say bad things. "Fake PC culture" would be "posers" hanging around in that culture(?).

I can only speak for me, but the main thing I think we are asking for is for others to take responsibility for the effects of their words. For people to realize institutionalized racism/misogyny/transphobia/bigotry is something your words and actions either contribute to or you act against the interests of, and not something in between.

1997 is the year I started watching South Park and I remain a fan to this day, still laughing at new episodes, but the false middle is where this show resides and therefore shouldn't be called satire. It's simply depiction with a weird libertarian slant sometimes or when they realize they've done that too much they do one to piss off conservatives. It's a very funny show that's lasted a long time, but it's not what people think it is or hold in high regard as.

The same people say the following things and it confuses me:

1. "Sony and Microsoft: ha! fuck those gamers; they aren't customers."

2. "Just let the free market be the free market!"

I'm not saying this is you (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but I see this so much I can't see one without wondering if the person thinks the other. It's absolutely massively anti-consumer to do console exclusives, as are most of the things that make publishers the most money - but for some reason people will fight tooth and nail to get screwed by them (regulation be damned!).

I don't get it.

Satire, even at it’s harshest, Juvenalian form, mocks and deconstructs societal structure and power. If you see obesity as a problem (which, to be clear, I very much do not), then you would have to look at fat people as a symptom. They are the most visible representation of what you would consider a problem in this scenario, but that hardly makes them a problem. This is how Ms. Arbour clearly views obesity, women, marriage and probably a slew of other things. She sees the symptoms as the extent of what she perceives to be a problem.

Even if she were actually "just making satire," it's in no way just or effective satire.

I, along with a few others, reported 8chan for child porn. In turn, the administrator Fredrik Brennan, shared the reports along with our names and email addresses, effectively targeting us for doing this.

As you might expect, many a channer continue to harass the people who reported this.

I think Bayonetta is a BAMF through and through, love the game, but I don't see how one could not feel they want males to buy the game based on her sexuality. That is what any critique I've made using the term "male gaze" is about.

They may not assume the person playing is male, but they know an easily targeted demographic when they see one. At least this is my thoughts on the issue. Not claiming expertise, just love the game and have some little things which bug me a bit. Not enough not to love it though.
