The top left is high comfort/low results, and the bottom right is where you are saying to move to - low comfort, high results.

Re: Sinful QuickChecking in Ruby

This is more about a Ruby shell than Rant. Regarding the DSL evaluator - couldn't you use method_missing to allow you to write out strings on a line (for parameters to a program) without quotes? Then if someone really meant to use a variable or method, they could make it a symbol instead. Unless you've thought of this already, or it's just totally crazy.

Re: danieltenner.com — Dealing with impossible crises

I've always found that getting the person you're dealing with to know you're a human being is the first and best way to get the outcome you want. It's good to practice this with anyone you're dealing with though. Be genuinely concerned with how they are when you ask "How are you?". You can small talk, chat about the weather, maybe ask them what working for their company is like, and empathize with a particular aspect of their job that you might think is difficult. "I would think that dealing with angry customers would be really difficult all day!" "How did you get into this whole secretary business?"

Excellent post. Many situations are possible if you're willing to talk to anyone who will listen to you.

Re: [ANN] testy.rb - ruby testing that's mad at the world

Good. It's always bothered me that the code to run the code to test the code I'm working on is a lot bigger than the code I'm working on. And the tests.

How for to get, please?

Re: Okito.net

My mom just told me about this on the phone not two days ago - apparently it's in Costco.
