TD had spun an already complex tale into an insanely complex tale about Anna's father (Nebraska) as a secret CIA agent involved with Child Pornography and it was wild. Her estate removed that one. I love her stories about Kate Moss (she loved Kate Moss, some of these entries are really funny) and the entry about the smoking museum. Her descriptions of perfume, and especially an LA perfume were so poetic and perfect. TD had absolutely exquisite taste and it permeates her blog. She had calendared two items, which is why you see one for Oct 07, which is after she died (she died in July). I think there is one more she had programmed in coming. So she reaches from the grave.

Re: Open Thread: The Murder of Meredith Kercher

Thanks for the tip CW. I hadn't read the Vanity Fair article--had a little more than I knew about Beck who previously said they were only briefly acquainted, and I didn't know Jeremy's father died of AIDS. I did not know them. Beck's grandfather was a Beat artist. Everyone has known Beck was a Scientologist since he first hit the scene in 96-97. If you are interested you can really get a hit of herpersonality at her blog. I learned a lot from Theresa. She was an insane genius. Her writing is brilliant, but some has been known to have been plagarized. She had very troubled creative relationships. He had a very bright future in the art world. I was aware of their work and had seen his art before they died. I still can't rule out much harder drugs with these two.

Re: Open Thread: The Murder of Meredith Kercher

The voting idea is sort of skewed since obviously people have given up and left and there are others who can't figure out what's going on well enough to even express an opinion.

i think it is 100% Steve's decision; i abstain, but i think the software is not ready for primetime, and that it has negatively impacted the community. I have a life in the art world.
I printed out her whole blog (which is the BEST) and gave it to Dominick to read before he had dinner with a writer who was very interested in the case as well. DD thinks S are nuts, too.
Anyhow, couple things--many of their friends thought that J was gay. One possible conflict.
2. One story told to me was that TB had an affair and it was very devastating to both she and JB. 3. That same person told me that JB had actually been to their place while she was dying--she was still alive but he left, and came back later with the minister when she was officially found. There are those that went to "murder-suicide" which fits the ethic of this scenario. She drank (whisky? can't remember) and took tylenol, but haven't heard about any tox report, in a way, they sound like junkies, but no one has said that to me. DD just swooned when I told him her final entry included: I am in the arms of the great lover. (We thought that was a pretty brilliant final sentence.) Two very very smart and talented people, but she burned a lot of bridges, was not strong on the truth in cases, and created a twisted trail. Very psychologically intense couple of people with a very complex relationship. He was a brilliant artist and on the cusp of a big break-through. He has a show up now at the Corcoran in DC that was planned before he died. Another great study in humanity.

(I don't think they were being stalked by the Scientologists, but maybe. I know I was followed by them one day after I took some pictures of their new logo displayed suddenly on a bunch of their buildings in Hollywood last summer...D said be careful. It was weird; they have this new real Stalinistic sort of logo--)

Re: Open Thread: The Murder of Meredith Kercher

http://perugia-shock.blogspot.com/

frank is most entertaining today.

Re: Open Thread: The Murder of Meredith Kercher

I am sorry Steve. Catherine Crier wrote a book about the case. Susan fired a bunch of attorneys and in the end acted as her own counsel. Pretty crazy case. She's now doing 25 to life.

The Phil Spector jury was hung due to a (my opinion) a control-freak jury foreman, who could not set aside his extreme religious beliefs ("DNA" Mormon -- back to days of Smith and Young) to convict the killer of an unmarried, 40-year old woman who went out at night. He found that he could not rule out suicide, "reasonable doubt" for his excuse which is just crazy (I think he had a revelation that to be her meant you would want someone to kill you). That would be my calmest possible way to describe what went wrong with that jury. Nothing should be ruled out in the case of Phil Spector and his GOOD FRIEND mafia attorney Bruce Cutler. Nothing,
The dish can be had at PS's former assistant Michelle Blaine's blog (she is fearless), at
http://mcontrolblogs.blogspot.com/
it's a long story, but she HATES PS and she HATES his wife Rachelle "Chelle" and goes right up to the line. Dominick is just great. It was fun to hear his asides.
