That is, when Jesus says: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26
OR
“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37, he is saying it really is a lesser love and that it will look different by comparison; not just, loving Jesus by loving our children and others (although as you state that is a component of it as our selfless sacrifice that comes from joy in God spills out to our kids and neighbors). However, as John Piper points out (http://www.desiringgod.org/..., in order to really love our children with the most love we must love them less than Jesus. We love them more by loving them less not by loving Jesus by loving them. So I think the premise of the article confuses the issue more than helps.

Re: What To Do About HAVING EXPIRED TAGS – PART 1

We here that yo... it's tough out there!

Re: What To Do About HAVING EXPIRED TAGS – PART 1

Can you sell it to her for $1 and then she will pay taxes on that sale and it will be in her name so you should not have to pay for the time it was idle. Yes, I have gotten left out all the time. I think it is dangerous to come from the approach that “once others understand” because it is a self-righteous approach. I am not suggesting that someone shove it under the rug and tell themselves how bad they are. I am suggesting that the person be a friend and love others. Love is selfless sacrifice and does not demand reciprocation—it just gives and gives and gives. So in general being hurt by not being included on something is not a selfless giving. With situation like family which are typically much closer relationships, then it would be worth reaching out to someone and gently seeing why the invitation wasn’t given (especially to a wedding, family trip, etc). If everyone else in the family is invited and you are not, hopefully someone would be willing to talk through it. At the end of the day, if you want to be with someone you have to be able to both confront and have healthy conflict while giving selflessly at the same time and the only way for that to be possible for broken humans is by the sheer grace and mercy of God.

Re: What To Do About STICKY TABLES AT RESTAURANTS

Thanks for the insight and helpful comment, tat!

Re: Why Almond Butter Is Better

Hi Holly!

Well, in general raw foods contain enzymes that are beneficial that are destroyed with heat. However, due to current laws in the US, all commercial almonds are supposed to be pasteurized so even almond butters saying raw have been heated briefly. You can get dry roasted which will have nice flavor and still have the minerals, just not the enzymes. Also, I think the bests are soaked/sprouted almonds as they are easier to digest by inactivating certain enzymes which can inhibit absorption of certain minerals and some places have almond butter made from soaked/sprouted almonds. Hope that helps!

Re: Can you pass me the unadulterated food? Thank you for visiting! Yes, autism is very tough. I think using living herbs that tend to help move metals and toxins from the body, as well as sticking to ideal foods that are not only enjoyable, but also easy to digest and cleansing at the same time (namely sweet tree fruits) is a great help. I work as a health consultant at a fitness studio and if you ever have any questions feel free to hit me up (via the contact form). I have done some consults with mothers of autism and can send you some general info to consider (which I am sure you have a lot already :)

Re: Unrefined Cane Sugar

Hi Jeremy,
Sorry for the late response! So I am simply saying they are less likely or less certain to be contaminated than peanuts, Traditionally they have been less conducive to have aflatoxins, especially the amount associated with peanuts. It seems with environmental issues and deplete soils that parasites and fungal infection are doing what they are designed to do and now affecting more tree nuts. Thanks for the info, though.

Re: Love Languages

You prove it prayerfully--with a heart pure before God, patiently, over lots of time.

Re: Dance Rants: Cut Out The Canola Oil

Hi Kayla,
The reason in a nutshell is that polyunsaturated fats are extremely unstable whereas monounsaturated fats are stable. The more double bonds the fat chain has, the more unstable it is and it goes rancid, breaks down and causes free radicals in the body. Saturated fats only have a single bond and are very stable, monounsaturated fats like olive and avocado have one double bond and are stable, but the polyunsaturated fats have multiple double bonds leading them to be very unstable--especially when out of their natural food form.

Does that make sense?

Re: What To Do About HAVING EXPIRED TAGS – PART 1

Yikes. Then you need to go have your emissions checked. Then go get tags. Make sure to check the requirements for getting a TN driver license and bring all those forms of id, especially since it takes a couple hours to wait.

Re: Your Bowels Need Some Aloe

Hi Greg!
The best way is to grow it fresh and you can take off the skin and scoop out the aloe gel and add it to water, juice, or a smoothie. Also, for convenience you can find brands that sell aloe gel and juice without any additives. I have used Lakewood organic brand (usually available at health food stores) and they are good because it is just 99% Aloe gel and 1% lemon juice. For a good tutorial on how to harvest fresh aloe, I would recommend this link (it has step by step pictures): http://www.NaturalNews.com/...

Re: Missing Mike

How great is His mercy to us. As I mentioned, there is some level of radiation effect, but it primarily effects the water and its structure. Water structure and integrity is definitely important and the better waters have better structure, and better "wetness". Testing the water on plants would definitely tell the story : )

Re: The 3650 Challenge

I'm interested!

Re: Free Stuff Fridays

Yay for free stuff Fridays!

Re: Are You Nipping The Bud In Your Life?

This makes me want to go sprout a sweet potato and plant it and grow it and then have many sweet potatoes.

Re: Unrefined Cane Sugar

Way to go! Glad to hear it!

Re: 50% Off Personal Training

Yay for 50% off personal training and yay for disqus comments working on the site again!

Re: If you drink this, you will have an awesome life and all of your problems will go away.

Hi Tania,
Yes, you are allowed to disagree. : ) I am glad that you are seeing improvement in your health with Vemma.
