You can still support a team and criticize them. The issue is its still a D1 school at at major college. Losing to Lipscomb at home after losing to NU at home is not acceptable no matter what year. Because both of those teams sucked. I honestly don't believe IU could compete or win in any D1 conference. It is what it is and there is nothing wrong with saying it

Agree with you that things need to stay as positive as possible, but its also hard to justify losing at home to Lipscomb. It's natural that fans are going to complain, regardless of the circumstances. As far as what we've written, I think we've been more than fair with our commentary of the season to-date.

Oh lordy, I am finished reading this site for a while......... I understand everyone has a right to their opinion, but if everyone would veiw things with a realistic poin of view then there would be nothing to bitch about. This team has what 10 true freshmen on it? All of whom were recruited well after May? C'mon folks.... Good God be gratefull we have a full roster, and some brave young men who took the challlenge to play here. And it is a challenge, and I respect these "young' men big time for it!

Jesus beating up on this team is easy, we all knew it was going to be a really rough year yet some expect it to happen NOW! I would bet everyone bitching has never played a minute or down of college athletics ever. Rome was not buult in a day and I guarantee all of you, IU will take at least 3 years to be a legitimate top 3 Big Ten type squad........... It WILL TAKE TIME.

This entire team is dealing with a new home, class, practice, and an IU basketball schedule. This team has no leader, J Rivers would do wonders for this team right now I think but........

Everyone please be patient, better times are on the horizon. This team needs encouragement ... not a bunch of fair weather fans.

Yep, I turned it on right at the 8-2 score and was right there with you in terms of concern. That said, I was pleased with the effort. They need to work on the FTs and rebounding - those are the two most glaring areas that need help IMHO

Lots of hustle and energy ....... they got down I think 8-2 and I thought "oh Lordy" but they pulled it together. I am pleasantly suprised at their play ..... if they coulda done a better job at the charity stripe they would have really waxed this team.

It will be interesting to see how this season unfolds.

Any other year I would feel the same way .... BUT is this any other year? Has any other school in the nation had to suffer through a complete overhaul? The 08-09 season will require patience from everyone.

I would let the students in free, the economy is a wreck ...... does the AD really think most students have $210 bones to shell out on a team that is going be pretty dam bad this season. IU needs a fired up student section for home games, I would let them in for free this season.

I agree, do we really need another guard? I think not, this team needs bigs ... but it he is the best available then so be it. I just think the squad could use some big, athletic types ... JMO

I would rather have Watford or Franklin, but it is great to see IU getting in on the big names already!

Creek has moved up to 59 now according to rivals!!!!! We are fine at guard we need some athletes inside now.

I don't know man, I have seen some of the best basketball Indiana has had to offer since I was a wee little "Giant" and James had no body around him and got his team to the state finals single handed! Where did Steve's team end up? James Blackmon was the greatest HS basketball player I have ever seen! JMO, of course! .... Go Giants .... Purple Reign forever!!!!

Woodpecker, you are dead wrong about James Blackmon. He was great, but Alford in High School was BETTER. I have seen few who dominated the game at the high school level as Alford.

haha Marco did give us one unforgettable night, though. 36 points on the nation's returning Defensive Player of the Year? Absolutely. A dunk over Greg Paulus to take the lead, which resulted in the perforation of my ear drums? You got it. So much hope for the rest of a season that when we all finally came back down to Earth we realized that the team was basically average-to-slightly-above it was as heartbreaking as any time we had ever endured in our lives? You'd better believe it.
