I don't have kids myself, but I admire your relationship with your own.

I actually liked a lot of my parents' music growing up, mostly oldies, in addition to my own angsty alt-rock, but we never really talked about it. I don't know if it's because it wasn't cool for me to admit it, or because it wasn't new for them, but apparently there just wasn't anything to say.

They were happy to let me blast whatever I wanted, but they never asked about it, except perhaps to question the value of some of the more egregiously offensive stuff (like bodycount or 2 live crew.. lol, i question it myself).

They did encourage our passion for music though, letting me go to lots of shows from an early age, and taking music lessons / having band practices in the garage, there just wasn't the same connect. I hope I have it with the (someday) kids..

Re: Ay Caramba

There\'s a thread about it on chowhound: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/377646

Re: Rock’s Greatest Covers: Patti Tops the List

There's a Vox group of peoples' favorite covers at http://covers.groups.vox.com/

Re: Start Your Own Label

We did myjones cream soda bottles for our wedding favors a couple years ago. It's hard to say develop solely for AIR right now (it's not even out of beta), but within a year there will be a sizable install base. If adobe can integrate AIR runtime installing somehow into the flash player install, that would be awesome (player 9 got to 90%+ installation base in just over 6 months), although I'm not convinces it's a good idea yet, and it's still a 5-10MB download.

We have a Adobe Flex-based website, and a desktop client written in AIR is definitely on our roadmap. The initial release doesn't support everything we'd need to make it truly worthwhile, but I'm very excitied about once it does!

If you want to know more about AIR, you should check out the onAir bus tour. They'll be in NYC on September 24th: http://onair.adobe.com/sche....
