Which is:

"So, should we show links to the games, music, apps etc? Or should we remove them? Or should we show them, but on download present a warning that what you've bought may not work and there are no refunds if we don't support your phone?"

Yes. You should.

"We don't recognise your handset as a Vodafone Live! handset, we think the best service is X but cannot guarantee it will work 100%. If you'd like to talk to Vodafone about upgrading to a Vodafone Live! handset we do support, please call 08700 700 191 from your handset or click here to carry on."

Give the user the choice, offer to up-sell them AND include a call to action.

Surely this is a better option than just having the service bork everytime I need to check my trains?

Re: Vodafone Live!, not available on the N86

You can rant about it here properly if you'd like, you have my email buddy...

Re: Vodafone Live!, not available on the N86

EXACTLY!

Re: Vodafone Live!, not available on the N86

Win. Music, video, navigating the web... It's a perfect device. But when it comes to content *creation*, then - to my mind at least - it has to be a Nokia.

Android is kicking it (aside from a few reported battery issues) it's well thought out UI which has fantastically produced a true unified comms system for the 21st Century.. *if* you're Google-centric, of course.

;)

Re: How Microsoft Office 10 will be locked out of my toolbag

Uber mobile geek and all round nice chap, sporting a Nokia N86 right here. Robert, I totally understand your thoughts around Android - the HTC Magic (or MyTouch over there I believe), nearly swayed me from the Finnish but the N86 brought me back again...

I know you used to carry an N95 about your person, have you tried the N86?
Without being a complete and total link whore, here's my brief thoughts - http://trmp.tv/?p=1514

All of that aside, sod Microsoft. It's right here.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatleydude/390358...

The camera on it is *amazing*, see here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatleydude/390406...

However, it is one chunky handset. The iPhone which, and anyone in this stream will tell you, I am no fan of, is much more comfortable to hold and easier to use. The Satio is running a poor man's version of Symbian 5th Edition and really could benefit from either an OS overhaul (something like Android would be awesome on this device) and/or some firmware improvements that a) fix the horrendous battery issues, (360hrs? Really? What, if you leave it plugged in you mean?) and b) Do something about the UI.

At least with an iPhone I can send a photo to flickr. Still trying to work that one out on the Satio.

Yours,

A fan of neither SE or the iPhone,

James
