OK, here's my take on this: BAD, BAD, BAD. The HRC-ers are starting this and spreading this, just like they did for HRC for Veep. Her "foreign policy experience" is the same as it was during the primaries: Zero, besides meeting leaders as First Lady. The MSM is spreading this story for ratings. Per Al Giordano, the Clinton massacre of Latin American issues is a big turn-off. Per me, her reckless statements about Iran and Pakistan immediately disqualify her, as do her "embellishments" of her trips.
Anyone who says and does things for political points like she did during her campaign, vs who Obama is and what he stands for...NOPE.

Please stop getting caught up in MSM-hype and wait for the O to make his decision.

And note to Rachel: Love you, girl...but if you don't stop dissing the O man, I'm gonna watch Grey's Anatomy...like I did last night for the very first time! First it was McCain might win; now it's the O transition team isn't as tight as the O campaign.

Morning Schmoe is a pr*ck. I emailed him and told him he wasn't important enough for his decisions re: his political options to matter. He has some nerve trying to denigrate our President one day out!

Jed...you wrecked the entire logic of your post in the last three sentences: you applied the adjectives "principle", "decency" and "the American thing to do" to McCain...

Think of it as framing why it won't hurt Obama that much if McCain moves forward with his sleaze.

John McCain has no decency. He has already proven he'll do anything to win the presidency. He hired Karl Rove, even after Rove smeared him and his daughter in 2000.

Drudge is becoming a caricature of himself, if that is possible.
I saw the whole Obama speech; hope and positivity and personal responsibility vs fear and blame and name-calling. McCain-Palin-Drudge are pitiful.

Obama has been the same since the absolute beginning; he said the same things he's saying now when he was asked to be the guest speaker when he was 3rd year at Harvard Law (see Keith O).

People may have forgotten that Obama had a really hard time with the old guard Civil Rights people for years because he didn't "come up through the Movement" and realized that although those ways were necessary at the time, we had to move on and move beyond. That's giving true power to the people...not waiting on the courts--especially Roberts/Scalia/Thomas.

Desperation...that's all the Repubs have left...

Did you see "Ellen" when newly-married Jenna Bush was on with Laura? Ellen asked if she could get married at the ranch, and Jenna said: "Sure!" Laura was NOT pleased...I'm no fan, but Laura could teach both Sarah and Cindy a lot about "class"!

The only "Ellen" funnier than that was when McCain was on and Ellen asked to walk her down the aisle!!

I deigned to speak for all Obama supporters against B. Blakeman who said on Shuster's show that Obama was shameless in using campaign plane to visit Granny, but it was OK to spend $150K for Palin's clothes!
Now I AM mad!
Obama supporters paid for that plane, and we WANT him to use it to visit Granny! We LOVE Granny and we LOVE our Guy!
He has to take Secret Service and staff anyway; and he'll make a campaign speech while there...so it's work-related.
That's OUR plane @ about $86/person!

Wow! I saw that @ 5 pm ET and will watch it again @ 7 pm just to see her squirm. As a former middle/high school teacher, I can tell you that my 4th and 5th grade students would know the answer to that question!

The Repubs say: it's OK that Palin doesnt know what the VP does because most Americans don't know. Well, most Americans aren't running for VP! It is also wrong (worse, actually) to say it's OK because Palin was talking to kids. It is imperative to teach the kids the right answer...it's not OK to tell kids the wrong answer.

Palin is wrong, period. The VP really doesn't have but one real job Constitutionally; that's why most people take the VP job only to be in position to run for Prez next.

The Repugs have already started trying to demonize or at least de-legitimize Powell's endorsement. I actually ran across a blogger who said that Powell was "brown like feces..." didn't read the rest of the blog post...

I only hope that "responsible, sane" Republicans (the few that are left) see this as an opportunity...I keep thinking of the look on Kay Bailey Hutchinson's face when she was asked about Sarah Palin....o-o-o-o-o-o

As spoken of above, and as I and my daughter discussed, General Powell is first and foremost a soldier. Soldiers follow the orders of their CinC. We've probably all seen those movies where the "underlings" didn't think that a decision by their commander was right but then said "yes sir" anyway, because they had to.
BTW: this is sorta the same, but sorta different from "I was just following orders" in Nazi Germany or elsewhere.

But this is another area where O gets it right and GWB and McGGLiddy are wrong. O says "the CinC sets the mission and the generals carry it out..." the two Repub nutjobs say they'll do what the Generals tell them to do. That's backwards.

It seems simplistic to say that General/Secretary Powell could've just said no; he actually tried. He was tricked and bamboozled and already thrown under the Bush bus.

Condi's the one I'm really angry at; she really good have told "her husband" GWB no and booked. She didn't. She's not a real soldier.

So, while I would look forward to a Powell endorsement for O, I am readying myself for Powell endorsing McShame, because he's a soldier first and foremost.
