We're huge fans of Masters of Sex, and have been looking at purchasing the We-Vibe 4 too! Excellent timing. Keeping my fingers crossed. ;)

Re: Because Toys For Men Deserve Some Love Too

A male review! Look at that — was wondering when that might pop up on this blog. Just a note, when I read this: "I think most men would be or are content with regular masturbation." While that might be correct, there's a whole lot that many men are missing if they are not experimenting with toys for personal or mutual pleasure. Just as a very basic place to start, I'd check out Tenga — they are making accessible, discreet, pretty good sex toys for men, and are a good launching point for all kinds of other good stuff. There's a whole world of pleasure out there. :)

Re: Destroy All Monsters: We Are Not True Detectives

Related, perhaps? http://thedissolve.com/feat...

Re: Counting Innovation: September 2013

If you do decide to do any follow-ups on this one, let me know! I know I'll definitely be looking for more information about all of these analytics as the systems get better.
Thanks for the comment! I love reading stories of how people give to others on this time of year — I'll be coming back to this thread often.
As for me, I have a few rituals for the holidays. Every year, I buy about 20 Tim Horton's gift cards (for $5 a piece) and hand them out to homeless people before Christmas. It's not much, but I hope it helps a little.
I also usually spend an evening at the mall (I know, the horror!) helping people carry their bags to the car. There are a whole lot of people who want to buy gifts but don't have the capacity to carry so many bags, for various reasons.
Finally — on new year's day, every year, I go to a local police station and a local fire station with cookies and hot cocoa. I used to bake my own, but for safety concerns now I just buy a box of cookies and take a Starbucks order. :)
In each case, I hope I bring a smile to someone's day.
Can't wait to hear all about what others do! I love being inspired by the goodness of others.

Re: Style Girlfriend Girl Talk: An Argument for Investing in Your Wardrobe

Haha — good point. I've always been an accessories man, so the first real things I treated myself to were nice watches, nice cufflinks, custom-made briefcases, handmade bowties. My most recent splurge (aside from the new suit I'm getting next week) was a pair of really affordable Ted Baker shoes in a color I've never seen before. Sure, I can't wear them with everything, but when I wear them, I feel like a million bucks. And so many strangers stop me on the street to remark on them, so they were worth every penny I spent.

Re: Reader Mailbag: Finding a Tailor, Fall Coats, and Suiting Up in LA

My tailor asks really great questions, like: what shoes will you be wearing with these trousers? What kind of watch with that shirt or jacket? Questions like that help them make sure the fit is perfect for not just your body, but the way you use your clothes too.

Re: Reader Mailbag: Finding a Tailor, Fall Coats, and Suiting Up in LA

Test piece is crucial: take in a pair of cheap trousers and see how they treat you, how they measure, what kinds of questions they ask you. It's a good indication of how they'll treat you and measure you once you bring in some other types of clothing. Great advice.

Re: Reader Mailbag: Finding a Tailor, Fall Coats, and Suiting Up in LA

My easy word of advice around tailoring: talk to strangers. I get all my clothes tailored and have had at least a dozen people (strangers, on the street) ask me where I get my tailoring done. Most of them, when I tell them, will say something like, "oh, I asked a few other people and they all said the same person" — multiple recommendations are a good sign.

Moral of story: if someone you see has impeccable tailoring, ask them where they got it, even if you don't know them. They'll be flattered, and you'll get some good insight. And who knows — you might even make a new friend.

Re: Review & Giveaway | Three Months of Pleasure From Lucky Bloke

Yup, consider me in for this one.

Re: Hacking Health: In photos

Hey Tim — I'd check out http://www.hackinghealth.ca and contact them there. The secrets are to keep it well stored so it doesn't get creased too much, to accessorize (ties, squares, belts) it well so that it always has some pop, and to wear it like you belong in that suit. A little bit of confidence, and people will ask where they can get their own.

Re: Style Girlfriend’s Portavi Packing Session: A Two-Week Trip in One Carry-on? I'll have to check it out. As someone that does a lot of business travel, I've never taken anything more than a carry-on for a trip, including several month-long trips to Europe. Once you learn how to bundle and layer and hand-wash and hang-dry, you learn you really don't need much to get around.

Re: A visual tour of Canada’s startup accelerator landscape

Thanks Chris — the "alternative accelerator model" might be an interesting stream of discussion to bring up with the panel at the launch event.
