Having had two leave the nest already (well, one is still attached with gossamer strings), I can say that is the best approach to take. Give them the tools they need, then let them fly! The more mistakes they can make under your wing, the less they will have to make when flying on their own.

I think you are spot on Chris, with the additional caveat that startabuzz brings up. You really have to know the right method for the person you are contacting. There are certain people I will only email, others only Twitter and still other that I can only reach by phone. Personally, I am very happy when others understand the rules and choose the correct the level of interruption for the importance of the message, but often they don't.

I find TweetDeck and Seesmic Desktop too overwhelming. I like the fact that I can see everything in one continuous stream in Twhirl, but also have the options to look speciifically at other aspects, such as replies, directs, my timeline.

I've often wondered how many folks would recognize me from Flickr. It'd be funny to have that happen. What is good though is to have folks I do plan to meet know who I am instantly from all of the pictures I share. They also already recognize my wife. :)

I've had that happen in Flickr fame. It is a strange feeling because, as you said, you are just doing your thing. I even had a friend of my daughter's, who lives out your way, came to NY to stay with Chels, and realized that she was my daughter. We have a mutual contact in Flickr, one of my oldest contacts and knew of me through that. My daughter was weirded out. :)

One thing I would add... If you really want to have someone follow you back, start a conversation with them. I know I have enough people that I follow already. I don't need to follow anyone who is not going to add value to my world.

What facts are those? What comapnies, organizations, or agnecies has he led? What has he done that is worthy of qualification for the Presidency?

Your stement is as empty as the news reporting we have seen on this subject. How can the MSM scrutinize the entire life of Joe the Plumber in 24 hours while ignoring Bill the Bomber for 24 months?

Excellent article! Very well documented thought process that led to the decision to endorse Barack Obama. Having listened to and photographed the candidates for the past year, I do not understand who someone who does not look at the facts and personally listen to the men speak would choose any other than Barak Obama.

The thing I find most scary today is the amount of ignorance in this country where people will believe whatever they are told and do not bother to do the homework themselves.
