Using a local bike shop to do your research then buying online is the ultimate dick move. That's like going to a local farmers market to chat up a farmer then buying from Walmart. If you need expertise then support it with your purchase. Otherwise it will simlly go away and you'll be left with the shitty experience of only having an online rstailer to help you.

Oh yeah, when you get to a more individualized plan you modify. But for the next couple months, most people aren't getting race specific yet - and are more about generalized fitness. Know I'm preaching to the choir on that. Endurance rides can take on a lot of shapes when you've got a customized plan. I was just focusing on the core/generalized skill.

People are entitled to their opinions - but they don't have any rights to have it stay on a site, especially if they are just being dicks about it. And you are seriously confusing "free speech" with "freedom from consequences to what you say." They can say anything they want on their profiles, websites, etc for the whole world to see. But they will have to deal with the consequence of being a troll when they do it on someone else's site. Freedom of speech isn't an entitlement to mess with people anyway you want free of consequence.

I agree 1000% percent with your comment Wade. There is a difference between engaged conversation and the trolls of the world who live online to create problems for their own need of attention. Thank you for caring enough about this environment that you delete comments to keep it a positive place to interact.

I totally agree. So many riders in my city (OKC) balk at riding below 32 F / 0 C. Saying that it's pointless, needless, and any other sort of insult they can throw out. But I love the challenge of it. To battle with the elements and make it back home your fitness and character improved. I think when you battle with the elements it makes everything else vibrant. Coffee is better, fires warmer, and the romanticism of life more alive. Cold winter rides are the best.

Thanks Matt. It's a jump into the big scary pool - but I love that when I race now I'll be going against the fastest that showed up. Consider it more of a "true" result competitively. 2015 hoping to turn some heads. But I've got my first Cat 2 season in Cyclocross First!

I use take the First Endurance Optygen HP and Multi-vitamin every day. They are nutritional and performance supplements for endurance athletes. I do noticed a real difference when using them. JDOWSKI many of the things you've listed you are taking are included in the stuff I am. But I used First Endurance's recovery mix - Ultragen - instead of chocolate milk but I need to balance my sugar intakes.

Travis (changed) even your language is hard to navigate because of is assumptions and heavy religious baggage. Two or more gathered is a statement on Gods willingness to be present not a prescription or model.
Diving into my personal faith and asking the questions you did are obviously personal and something I'd expect a friend to ask.

It feels that your questions are geared to shift the discussion into an unproductive place trying to put me in a light that's convenient for those that don't like what I had to say.

It could get drug out. I appreciate the last couple paragraphs. But there is too much distant idealism in your comment to approach it without it becoming very unproductive.

It doesn't have to happen in the household of God - mainly because that requirement isn't supported any where in the teachings of Jesus. But churches like to assert it. I didn't share this because I needed advice or help. But I do appreciate you sharing your voice.

I bring all my email into gmail - and the app has the same intelligence to reply with the appropriate sending account. For me it's all about search - tire of mail app searching one folder - like just the inbox - very stupid UI.

The 3 doesn't have anything I needed or felt like would be worth paying more for. I got a good deal on this one (32gb wifi) and with tethering to my iphone more then meets my needs.
