uneducated ok how to resolve it.

Funny, until I experienced this-inwant aware MS Word could enter a
"Safe Mode" stage.

I fully understand. People should at least download the free version
if they are slightly tempted to install it at a later date, due to the
Microsoft deadlines approaching.

You’re absolutely correct with the information provided for our readers. We always look forward to your fabulous feedback and comments.

In regards to the "no right click" restriction issue, as with anything computer related - there is a hack. For most users however, they generally do not have the knowledge to work around the issue, nor do they want to put forth the time to gather the image.

The point you brought up regarding the “no right click” being annoying, is something I struggled with when I decided to implement the javascript function. At a later date, I may decide to remove this feature, thank you for bringing up valid user perspectives.

Regarding your comment on the topic of “Internet Explorer” CSS, I have noticed more WordPress theme’s are providing a IE6.css for such issues.

Sorry for the delay on my part for a response.
There are several factors which can determine if a free WordPress theme is "good" or not.

1) If you are a newbie (or don't like to code) and find the site has non-working "Home-Contact-About" pages, this is a start. A nice theme will have already created those pages for you with dummy text. You then just need to cut/paste your own info in there.

2) Incomplete coding is a problem with free theme's. I have run into beautiful and stunning theme's which I couldn't wait to throw up on the Internet. When I when through the whole process of unzipping and uploading to my site - only to find I had to know PHP, Javascript, and dabble a bit to fix what they didn't finish. (Frustrating if you chose it with intentions of not having to put the work into it).

3) I would stay away from any free theme which displays encrypted code at the footer. Nile brought up this information in her comment prior to yours. Only they know what is really in this information.

4) If someone has the knowledge of CSS, HTML, Javascript, PHP, & Designing programs too - they are at an advantage over must WordPress users. They are not inhibited by glitches, which occur sometimes. Basically, for the rest of us we need to make sure there are some key elements:
a) RSS Feed
b) How many side columns do you want?
c) Is coded and ready for plug-ins?
d) Is it compatible in all browsers (especially IE)
e) Is the style.css easy to modify
f) Is it "Widget" ready

I am certain there are many more which I may have overlooked. Other readers, please feel free to fill in the gaps. I hope this helps a bit for now. I will look into another post regarding WordPress themes, perhaps.

Thank you for your comment.you bring up a good point - I always warn
individuals to backup their information prior to any new plugins and/
or programs being installed. I also do not wish for others to abandon
the idea of free WordPress themes; they just need to be cautious.

I hope you get a chance to use the plugin "Test Drive." I found it to
be extremely fun.

Your comment was very resourceful, and many thanks for the links to your kind explanations as well.

I am finding with WordPress, there are many plugin's that seem to do the same thing, yet called something different. Some work better than others, not requiring as much work for the user. The one's that require more attention to detail and some coding, are usually the one's newbie's stay away from.

I appreciate your explanation and attention to detail for our viewers, regarding your use of MAMP (I forgot to mention the various types of testing on ->LAMP, WAMP, MAMP, XAMPP, etc.)
