I have had the PubSubHubbub WordPress plugin for a while, and just added the RSS Cloud one. I see this in my feed.

<atom:link rel="hub" href="http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com"/><atom:link rel="hub" href="http://superfeedr.com/hubbub"/><cloud domain='things.thingelstad.com' port='80' path='/?rsscloud=notify' registerProcedure='' protocol='http-post' />

Now, I'm thinking that cloud servers will see their part and ignore the PubSubHubbub stuff and vice versa. Make sense?

Or, does this thematically just not make sense? Is it one or the other? I see no reason why that would be the case. (CMA == Country Music Association).

Just seeing the word SERIES in the title, makes you realize that you can find out details about the point of the show, especially if there has already been one.

Re: Yonder Mountain String Band at Tarrytown Music Hall

Basically, #2 is my only real complaint. One suggestion would be to create a "series" that you can align concerts with. You are right that you invite the fans of any artist, but concert goers do rely on a venue as a form of editor in it's selection. When you, as editor, choose a different target you should let your customers (particularly regulars) know that.

A common version of this is doing children's concerts. In addition to being in the morning, they often have a series name. For example sake, Tarry Town Music Hall Children's Series. You see where this goes.

Just a thought...

Re: Yonder Mountain String Band at Tarrytown Music Hall

Wow -- I read this post in Google Reader and specifically came back to the website to leave a comment like this:

1) do all bands that have the word "String" in their title become (or start as) weed bands? String Cheese Incident is my 2nd data point.

2) sometimes I like to have a "party" time at a show, other times I want to listen in my chair. I'm equally annoyed when I expect one and get the other. Totally get it.

But, having come out of my reader I was amazed at the volume of comments. I missed the first couple of seasons and tried to watch it a bit in the 3rd season but just couldn't engage with it. I bought all five seasons and just finished the 2nd. It's an amazing show. Personally, I don't mind buying ala carte for this content. That's why I happily cancelled satellite TV and simply have an HD antennae for broadcast shows.

Re: things.thingelstad.com

A great time was had by all!

Re: things.thingelstad.com

Ha! That said, there are a few obvious reasons why I want it to work, and why I will continue to play with it (now more aggressively than I used to!).

1) There are times when I have no hands free, or just one, but I'm available to type an email or respond to an IM. Perfect application for this.

2) I can imagine a time when I am injured, or have advanced arthritis, etc., where it could absolutely be a godsend. While I could start then, being comfortable with the process, commands, limitations, workarounds, etc., would make the transition easier.

3) Perhaps the most practical one is faster dictation. I type pretty darn fast, and reasonably accurate too. But, I can certainly speak faster than I can type. If the computer could understand it as well as my current typing skills, that would be a huge win for long documents or emails.

:-)

Re: Vista speech recognition

This is the use case where I think voice could be workable and cool. Google Voice Search on the iPhone is already pretty impressive. I could see it being nice to be able to speak since the keyboard options are limited by size.

Plus, it doesn't feel odd to talk into a phone. It's natural.

Re: Vista speech recognition

You are definitely applying. :-)

Re: Vista speech recognition

I'm sure most people would agree with me describing myself as an aggressive and early adopter of technology. With that said, I find that I can't bring myself to talk at my computer.

I wonder when that will change.
