Although it will be hard to get the telcos for monopoly because they will still be "allowing" for third party services to access their network. There will be more success on the unfair practices and fair market front. Although line/network access rights and costs have been disputed, for years, between telcos, the FCC and third party provider. It might be too late if the telcos are successful with this. I fear it might take years to undo what could have easily been prevented/regulated by the FCC, or higher government agencies.

The free market is nice, but it needs to be protected. Some times that is done through regulating parts of it. To keep the US competitive with other countries other, that the FCC, government bodies might need to become involved as well.

http://thetitan.titanfusion...

Re: MG Explains Why ISPs Want To Lower The Definition Of Broadband

This is part of the whole Net Neutrality issue. Consumers do not understand and know how many of the services they use and depend on depend on broadband, the internet and fast delivery of information. More needs to be done to make the net neutrality issue better know/understood by consumers and to encourage more participation on their part.

Re: MG Explains Why ISPs Want To Lower The Definition Of Broadband

I guess more people will have to give up on watching youtube and actually go outside and do something productive and healthy.

Re: People+Of+Walmart%2C+Some+Of+You+Should+Look+In+The+Mirror+Before+You+Walk+Out+The%26nbsp%3BDoor

I didn't say it was "breackign news" or that it was presented as "breaking news". TechCrunch isn't a "breaking news" site!! TechCrunch reviews and reports on events, businesses, services and sites.

It would be nice, though, to not see things that are stupid and OLD, posted on TC. Especialy about sites like peopleofwalmart.com, unless it has something to do with a grand plan, technology behind it or finances. When Michael posted about icanhascheezburger.com it was about the actual company and specualtiosn about their revenue - you know - things of substance.

I wouldn't have a problem with this post if I saw it on CrunchGear. I am use to seeing ones like this one published there!

Re: People+Of+Walmart%2C+Some+Of+You+Should+Look+In+The+Mirror+Before+You+Walk+Out+The%26nbsp%3BDoor

I wish Techcrunch staff staid more up to date on what is happening on the Internet and didn't report on sites, and events like they are something new!
