If one were to be an outside observer on all this, it's a VERY tough call as to who might be right and wrong. It is very hard to believe that in such a VERY public arena, Michele Berman would be afraid to leave her husband if that's really what she wanted to do. (I know that happens however with 1,000s of women every year who are not in the public eye.)

At the same time it is tremendously hard to believe that all of the drama is caused by pain medications. And if that were so, why no definitive answers from doctors who could attest generally that it could be so, or from others who know the Bermans that the mayor does and can act this way. Or others who have seen such irrational behavior.

Poisoning? That's such a whodunnit circle of "intrigue." Such innocent things could be putting 1 and 6 together and getting 5 - or they could be not so innocent. Why has none of this "tea" or drug been found? And why would she keep on drinking it of she didn't like the taste? It's unclear when she saw the text message - and if it was after she had been drinking the tea for a while it is amazingly unclear why Mayor Berman would keep such damning evidence on his phone, unless it wasn't damning at all and he just left it there as we all do. A circle.

And, of course, I'm outside of Gilbert so my observations matter not at all, but there are thousands of outside observers in Gilbert called voters. One or the other or both of them would have to be very troubled indeed for any of the allegations to be true. How much drama - but what if none of it's true - does Gilbert want in its leadership?

That worked well as I wake up this Thursday morning. I'm not an audiophile but I've tried to tell people the different acoustics of listening on headphones, via some music that just needs to fill a room to sound wonderful.

I'm curious why you recommended laptop headphones in this case.

Also, obviously I appreciate the British accent in most things, but I'm not sure I like it here. Either that or I just noticed it and couldn't put it out of my head. It doesn't seem warm enough for the song or especially the - as you say - wonderful video.

PPS After reading the comments, some people are in serious denial. These peopler didn't get to he A-list by being self-appointed. They got the traffic from somewhere. ... I am not in a tech / geek (used in the nicest possible way) industry and simply had no need to follow these people.

No freakin comments? Well, I for one enjoyed the piece. Right to the point, not a word wasted and no blame attached. I don't know if it's because I just don't care or what but these A-listers have not factored into my life AT ALL. The same as network primetime news - never watched em, never cared.

Good question.

I would say yes, if only because of the format. I think it helped to have two different discussions with questions from moderators and much more intelligent questions from the audience.

I am NOT a person of faith and still I appreciate what makes others tick and informs them.

I thought both candidates did better in different areas. I would have like the same questions asked of each candidate, and whomever came second not to be able to listen to the first.

Still, except for a couple of the questions, there was strong intelligence on display. And I trust both of these candidates not t o have any desire to inject religion into the public policy arena.

I'm sorry but that must be the two dumbest lead in paragraphs for supporting a candidate I've ever read. Not that I don't support you decision, but, for instance i can think of candidates that would require much greater leaps of faith.

And I'll check back when I find out why Obama's running, now that I know it's not to actually get elected.

The Politico, by the way, typifies what's worst about political coverage. They highlight the horse race aspects and the gotcha. They do little else but punditry. It's not at all must read in any way. Blogs do it and already do it and there are thousands employed doing the same thing.

That was not actually the first line. If you follow the progression at the Politico, one of two places that dumped this on the public, you'll see that the original "story" was the Obama campaign releasing an incomplete transcript. Why would they even bother to do this is one question.

The story then hours and hours later had an update that said the actual first line was "I'm Hillary Clinton, and I approved this message." The fact that Obama gave them the release was only in the update.

It was the combo of horrible journalism - not listening to the ad before reporting (kind of like here, actually though Politica is a de facto journalism site) - and poor actions from the Obama campaign. It's all small stuff but still ... Time magazine's blog still has the incorrect transcript up without further clarification or update.

Well organized post - thank you - and I'm happier being a Hillary Clinton supporter (but NOT Obama-hater). I feel that Obama has been getting a pass on substantial things, not plagiarism which got a lot of play but truly wasn't a big deal. ETC.
