Stan, thanks for clarifying. There is certainly something to be said for simplicity, and there are scores of failed Web 2.0 start-ups out there whose cause-of-death was that they tried to include everything out of the box. I don't think that there's always a clear answer, but in the end I think it comes down to who has a better understanding of the solution- the author(s) or the community?

Sorry, Dawud, you were flagged as spam ;) but, yes, blown away is an excellent way of describing things. I was just asked tonight by my in laws to talk about the weekend and it was difficult to get past saying, "Wow!" over and over again. Ron, I admit I had a difficult time following your paper, but I think that I see the overall construct. Thank you for taking the time to point this out! As a blogger, I am an information pack-rat. I save links and articles and thoughts all over and have a system for retrieving this information that works most of the time. I'm always interested in learning about knowledge and productivity systems and would welcome your further comments on the subject.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still on track with my Just One Thing campaign! At work, I've unplugged my desktop printer. Now, instead of printing things out just to see how they look on paper, I'll only print something if it's worth the trouble it takes to reconnect my printer.

You're right, there are a ton of "coming soon" features that I either missed or skipped over. That's what I get for trying to put together the post while I'm not at my PC.

I really hope that they can keep gathering momentum and rolling out these features. For me, I don't think that this will be just another social web app that I review and then forget.

Today I walked around the house turning out the lights on my wife. I think that counts as doing something for the environment!

Yesterday my wife and I split a meal when we went out for dinner. We used fewer dishes, didn't have any leftovers to throw away, and the kitchen had to cook one less meal.

The place where we were out swing dancing tonight provides free cups of water for the dancers. We noticed that by the end of the night, there were dozens of used plastic cups that will go straight into a landfill. While we haven't yet voiced our concerns to anyone there, we did decide that we would be bringing our own reusable water bottle next time we dance there.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm following through with my resolution to do one thing for the environment everyday.

Yesterday I learned that the tubes that hold toilet paper and paper towels are recyclable, so I started setting those aside instead of tossing them in the garbage.

And today I made a deal with a coworker who drinks bottled water everyday. I told him that I will recycle the empty bottles if he gives them to me instead of throwing them in the trash.
