Where e-commerce and digital paid advertising efforts have quantifiable ways to measure ROI, I perceive social media marketing to have a lot of qualitative aspects in measuring performance, so it will be interesting to see the latest developments with that.

that's not exactly paying for interest twice. it's only the #1 you mentioned that's interest (usu. 3.5% interest every month based on the original amount) and then #2 is really just like you said, balance from the principal, so just because you didn't pay a measly remaining 350 from the original amount, they can charge you with interest already. yeah, so always pay in full, as much as you can.

Ouch maybe HSBC changed their policy. Try asking sa branch. Or opening with Metrobank was pretty hassle-free too. I have a bunch of application forms with me, actually. :)

So I closed my HSBC credit card a few weeks ago. Didn't do much. I got an unsecured RCBC Bankard, probably from my HSBC records. So I guess in that way, a secured CC helps you build credit but not really with the same card company. Even with my impeccable payment record at HSBC, I didn't get a credit limit increase or unsecured CC from them. I did get my annual fee waived though.
I'll probably open a new one with Metrobank this week just so my capital, is, well, secured. Let you know what happens.

I checked with Mr. YNAB :) "It can run just fine on Linux is the person has OpenOffice installed (a free spreadsheet program similar to MS Office). YNAB Pro does not work on Linux (yet)."

Don't worry about me waxster. I invest everyday in business and I've started my first very own VUL, with the investment component in a specialized fund with high equity proportion at the start, constantly decreasing % for equity fund until the last 5 years, when it transitions to bond fund so I can cash out.
I do have to build a buffer to align with YNAB rule #1 stop living paycheck to paycheck.

Hi Daniel! Yes, discipline with money doesn't come naturally to everyone... so you gotta put in some crutches and "cheat" yourself (like regular contributions and automatic transfers) until it becomes natural. LOL

I logged in again just now to my old moneytrackin account coz you brought it up; I feel kind of lost actually. Maybe they should have 'getting started' javascript popups or something.
It's already hassle enough to track each cent that comes out of my wallet... having to enter one by one on a website is just too much trouble. Recording takes me a total of 30-45 minutes for a month's worth of transactions. And I want easy access to my budget, no need to login, no dependence on 3rd party. I'm okay with SaaS for a lot else, but until there's no personal finance webapp like mint.com / moneytrackin.com / mvelopes.com that connects straight to my bank's (BPI) system, I'm happy with YNAB.
I backup constantly anyway with Mozy (register via https://mozy.com/?ref=Z929C... trying out Wuala too (tell me if you want an invite) so I'm sure my YNAB file's intact.
