Hey JB! Great to see a comment from you, thank you for taking the time to visit and get caught up. The apartment is nice, and it's exciting to start from scratch. The job is awesome and totally challenging so I haven't put much time in decorating but I will once I'm more settled at work. You're right about the tour. Once I get a little furniture I will vlog about it.

Thanks Sukhjit! My son is on his third book now with the Sony Reader, so I am a happy parent to see him reading so much. I agree the open approach to content is a good one, as I mentioned, and I will check out the other Sony Reader products next time I see them in the store. I think it is great that there is so much activity in the eReader space right now as the rising tide lifts all ships and overall it is great to be encouraging and facilitating more reading, and creating more distribution outlets for writers and publishers. Good stuff all around.

That's too bad... wish you still had it since we put the list together after one of our last Sony Dad calls (if I remember right, you were not on the call or had gotten off by the time we talked about this.) I may add it to a blog post as it's great info to have some recommended books.

Ha! Jeff, you get a gold star for the most creative execution on the Reader Sony Dads project! Thank you for the fabulous video with your son. You guys really made the most of the experience. I'm especially impressed with the special effects in the "Black White and Shade of Dorian Gray" video. Well done.

I also wanted to highlight a point you made about the Reader's open source approach to content, it gives readers the most choice and freedom when it comes to what they get to read on their device. All ebooks are not the same when it comes to this approach and the Reader team at Sony is pretty proud of taking this lead.

If you do get a chance to try any of the other Readers, the Daily Touch Edition or the PRS 700, please make sure to compare and share your experience.

Hi Bruce, your story reminds me of my nephew who is an English major at San Francisco State University. When I lived in SF I'd have him over every so often to study (and so I could make sure he got a home cooked meal.) I have to say the weight of his backpack made me cringe and I even think I had sympathy back aches from seeing the textbooks he lugged around. I'm not sure if SFSU has an ebook program yet, but ebooks seem like the way things are headed. I've actually been thinking a Reader would be a great gift for my nephew. Like I mentioned, he's an english major. He loves books and reading and I think an ebook is another great way to have access to stories... not a replacement, but definitely a nice way to lighten the load.

Thanks for the review, Max and for taking part in this bit of the Sony Dad's project. It looks like you may not have gotten much of a chance to read to your 2 year old very much. If it is because you were still looking for content, let me know. Val from the Reader team put together a list of books for kids. If you didn't get it, I'd be happy to send it to you if you still have the Reader (I'm not sure when you're scheduled to send it back). I also wanted to say, I'll be passing your post on to the Reader team. Your "Recommendations for Sony" section is appreciated.

Thanks for testing out the Sony Reader and sharing your thoughts, Michael. It's safe to say the video of your girls is just awesome and a great way to see the entry level Reader in action. I'm glad you made note in your post that this is the entry model. Some of the features you want are available on other Readers like the Touch Edition.

I like you don't want to give up my books, but I do think there is room for ebooks for some reading. Today someone tweeted me that they saw a Sony Reader at the gym. I love that idea since I love to read while on the stair climber and sometimes it's just weird to balance books and magazines when you're trying to work out. In any case, I hope you'll give some of our other Readers a test. I think you'll be pleased with the interface and the hardware. In addition the eBook Store is expanding by the day. The last I heard it had 95% of the NYTimes best seller list.

Great to hear you enjoyed the VAIO Win7 event at Gustavino's. Yes, it's been exciting to launch the new VAIOs. I spent some time in the Sony Style Store this weekend here in San Diego and people were huddled around some of the new models, especially the L Series, Touch. Heather! I was so psyched when I saw your comment a while back! Thanks a million for leaving me a note. Yeah, it's totally true about leaving San Francisco. I sometimes can't believe that I don't live there anymore but you are so right there is awesomeness everywhere. I smile every day after I notice something else I think is cool about SD. It's good.

So, it is really interesting to see this shift in content.. especially to have come from traditional media. But what's the most powerful thing in this phase of content is the real connection with your audience. It's exactly what I was missing when I worked in TV.

So, thank you again for the note and hope you forgive me for the late response. I've been so overwhelmed with new town, new job, new operating system!!! You know what I mean.
