I make a point to take a picture of my coffee every time I visit an IHOP. This is usually an every Saturday occasion, at this point.

Well, for the effect I was going for, this meets it more.

You'd have to listen to it with headphones to understand the effect... it's a weird result of random experimentation with my iPhone. I was at work using the Ambiance app to give me the "Rain on a Porch" sound, when I clicked the Play button on my headphones, thinking to mute the sound when someone came to talk to me and instead it started playing A Perfect Circle. Ever since, I've been on Shuffle listening to see what works and what doesn't.

Word. I find that there is a maddening, almost tragic difference between joie de vivre and refusing to acknowledge the world around you. It's one thing to be enraptured at the little things in life, and quite another to not see the forest for the trees.

But I still get chills from drinking that cup of fresh brewed coffee on a Saturday morning and knocking out "just one more chapter"... (I wrote this on my iPhone. Forgive me if there is anything weird that I missed!)
