Calling abroad. I have friends abroad so comes in handy then.

SkypeIn comes in handy too. I have a London number with SkypeIn because I'm based up in the beautiful North East where the air is fresh and the rent is cheap.

As a native North Easterner can I just say that Hartlepool is in no way a true representation of the region. Girls generally wait until after they've reached the age of 16 to have babies up here.

I'm really suspicious of my Vodafone dongle. It worked like a dream when I first purchased it until about two weeks after when it began slowing down, losing signal etc.

HOWEVER

I happened to buy a new laptop and when I began using it from that the first two weeks (again) were great. Then, alas, it went crap again.

Call me paranoid but...

It's a conspiracy. A conspiracy I tell you!

also nokia have to bring out new products - they can't keep shifting N95s for ever - motorola tried that with the razr! :)

mind you i do think at times they try to release too many handsets. 125 current models on sale at nokia.co.uk!!

also innovation has been redirected to the upcoming 5th edition phones. So basically expect more soon.

No you're right - it's a N96 not an N96. I write how I speak sometimes.

In eight months time{!) when the firmware's been updated and mine stops crashing I'll be a happy man I reckon.

From an N73 to an N96 (is a NXX or an NXX? an sounds better but I'm sure is wrong - anyway) is a quantum leap (though they don't always succeed - see sinclair QL).

I think the big issue is that the N96 is a rehash of the n95 8 gig and really has little to offer over that phone.
and with its immature firmware is considered a step back - it's hardware video and audio chips do boost its power handling and quality.

I quite like my N96 now. Yes it definitely needs a firmware update (my goodness and I've complained) but for someone like me who came from an N73 to the N96 it's a good improvement.

I do wish Nokia would improve the browser though - I've noticed no difference in the N96 from the two year old N73 - except for that crap browser map thing which got quickly turned off after discovering how frickin' annoying and pointless it is.

I wonder if "Rob" got his inspiration for his name from BBC economics editor, Robert Peston? He has been in the news a lot of late.

Scary because:

* As a PR person Rob doesn't understand the etiquette of online

* As a PR person Rob clearly doesn't know what a blog is or who bloggers are

* As a PR person Rob hasn't heard of MIR ;-)

Not sure if I buy the 'none IP address disclosure'. If you're going to be a troll (or in this case a sockpuppet) then why shouldn't you call them out?

Was debating with myself to get the iPhone, Bold, E71 or N96. Looks like it's the N96. I saw James Whatley's Qik video but couldn't see the difference between the two phones.

Btw Three are doing half price mobile broadband to existing customers at the moment.
