I think it should have been $350-400b larger to more closely match the successful stimulus efforts of FDR and Regan during the response to the 1933 and 1983 recessions, but it was a step in the right direction, regardless.

Re: Americans Trust Obama on Economy -- Taegan Goddard's Political Wire

"LOL."

No evidence? Plus, 54% of Americans got half or more right, according to this poll.

Feel free to lament the sad state of civics in the USA, but try to understand it's a problem in all 50 states, left and right wing. Perhaps some people voted for McCain or Obama based on bad reasons: marketing campaign, spin, religion, etc. But some people may have researched the plans, the ideas, and found the candidate that suited their ideals.

Most of the last elections have been based on marketing. How do you think Bubba beat GHWB? Or GWB beat Kerry? It was based on sales, not facts. Kerry's military record, for instance, was inappropriately attacked, but the facts didn't matter there. In this case, Obama and McCain both ended up being the victim of increasingly bitter slander ads from both sides. Obama's campaign was obviously superior in the amount of ads it put out, etc, but I don't think it had a monopoly on spin and lying, either.

Was I a US citizen, I would have voted for Obama. I've followed his career with interest for about as long as I've been watching US politics; however, the one individual who I have been following longer than Obama was a fellow named John McCain, whom I've often been a fan of as well. However, when I looked at the facts, I found Obama's platform to be more in line with my beliefs. So, I think that many Americans voted for bad reasons; but I think many Americans voted for good reasons, too.

Re: Americans Trust Obama on Economy -- Taegan Goddard's Political Wire

Spending = money into economy = jobs.

So, I don't see how that is a terribly bad thing.
