Yup! Great point. It definitely use to be that games (and software) had an "end state" but that's no longer the case.

Yes, exactly. 👍 It's the most exciting time of product development, in my opinion.

Using Podia as an example: It's now time to go deep and focus on the core areas of the product that people are using the most BUT that also make us unique.

#4 Yeah, definitely need to look out for the "what's in it for me" candidates. Not that people aren't allowed to ask about the job, of course, but certain questions are triggers for me.

#5 That's a great point. If people own something, it's a lot easier to see if someone isn't performing well at their job.

The most honest and truthful answer I can give you is that we're a completely different company with a different product, different people running it, and different investors. You can't compare companies 1:1 like that. That's like asking "How is Apple different than Microsoft?"

You are very fortunate! :) That can definitely work for some people for sure, but I don't know too many.

The gist of what I was getting at, though, is that it's different for all people. Personally, I love working and am happy to put in extra hours because working on Coach is something I love to do. I don't think it's right or wrong to put in fewer than 40 or more than 40 hours. Everyone just needs to do what's best for them.

(But, I also make sure my employees don't work more than forty hour weeks and often less too. I'm always quick to give them the day off it they need it too.)

That's actually a really great point. The hunger for revenue is definitely felt more by folks who bootstrap than folks who have money in the back. I carried that hunger over to Coach with me because of my history of bootstrapping, but that might not have been with me if I hadn't bootstrapped in the past.

I think it's probably my preferred method. I'd personally go with a contractor or a few contractors over an agency as it'll cost you less. You really just want to get something that people can click around to try out. A true prototype barely has to work, but needs to give a sense of what your intention is.
