I think understanding fundamentals - form, perspective etc will help with your idea flow. The less cumbersome our hands are, the easier it is to create.

I agree. It is nice for doodling here and there though. I just wish Apple would do the same with the iPad :-(

That's true. I try not to spend time designing as I sketch for these videos. I do show that method however in my workshops. The techniques I use can be used to sketch anything.
