Your argument on the basis that Sabbatarians are "fundamentalists" and they take every single word in the Bible literally is false and highly irresponsible.
No one would suggest that you should take every word of the Bible literally so literally to it would be foolish to believe that or propagate that Sabbatarians believe as such.

In your bias against Old Testament scriptures, you fail to realize that Jesus did not come to this Earth only to tell us not to take scriptures literally. He tells us:

"For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart"

A shift from physical meanings to the spiritual meanings. A shift from having only Jews as God's people, to making salvation available to all nations. A shift from being under the penalty of death to forgiveness of sins. Christ came to complete the teachings He gave to Israel in Old Testament, not to render it obsolete. If the Old Testament were obsolete, then how why would the New Covenant even matter? The New Covenant itself was given in the Old Testament.

I remember that post and I remember when the incident happened. It was pretty horrific seeing that image on the news and I've never found it funny.

I think the trust factor can be overcome by monitoring and evaluating results -- are tasks being completed? Are they up to par? Is communication regular and effective?

I'd rather not see Toronto turn into London -- from what I've heard, it's not exactly something to aspire to.

If we had a more effective transit system, this wouldn't be a problem. But we build subway lines where they aren't needed and put poorly manage the bus routes.

Why stop? You're making some really key points here. Social media sites like Twitter and Friendfeed only emphasize the conundrum of the so-called "wisdom of the crowd". Without discussion and consideration of viewpoints, how do evaluate merit? Without that, it just ends up being a popularity contest.

I totally agree with you on the newspaper websites -- I've seen opinions from all kinds of angles there.

Definitely a concern as well. I think interaction has decreased since the Facebook announcement, but it's been downhill since before then.

You're absolutely right Shevonne, I think the lack of diversity is a contributor, not necessarily the root of the problem.

Scoble and I use the site for different purposes and objectives, so we expect different things out of it.
